I wonder if this is autobiographical. If so, I wonder if it was his plan all along to borrow money without paying it back.

I'm strongly against welshing on debt (especially when the lender's an individual and not a bank) but then I recently completed my BA at one of Canada's top-shelf universities and the whole thing was under $15K. I don't know what I would've done if I lived in the States. GI Bill, maybe, or just not have gone for a degree at all.

Yes, I read it all. The footnotes, everything. Even decoded the letters. I devoured that book. I spent a sleepless two days enthralled.

you swear you read House of Leaves till the end? Including the "emails received appendix thing"? I loved the main part of the book, the notes, the layout... But I was more lost in that appendix than the guy inside the house cave...

it's a belter. was forced to read it at school and only realised just how incredible it is when i re-read it years later.

it surprises me, but pleases me, that hollywood hasn't dragged it back to the big screen lately.

interesting point someone mentioned to me yesterday... the jews' "right to return" to israel is based on the historical period when england was welsh.

i.e. fucking ages ago and fucking irrelevant, unless you are a retarded farmer in anglesey.

when i was in north wales, an raf officer told me they can't drive down certain roads because the local welsh nationalists would throw stones at the british land rover.
