Real Transformer (MUST-SEE)
lol I was amazed he got it to punch at all and it really reminded me more of the corny Japanese super hero poses they do(think power rangers) so I gave him a pass for that since this was a Japanese project. The Travolta line was funny though.
And if walks like a prototype, punches like a prototype, and poses like a prototype, it's cause it IS a prototype.

Not really the reaction I was going for but eh to each his own I suppose I thought it was pretty cool.
I didn't find it either funny nor terrible but I'll let the people who mod those channels decide that.

This is the funniest thing I've seen here today.
comedy terrible
Did you not see it walk? Did you not see it strike a disco pose? It was the Travolta action that sealed the #terrible for me.

Shouldn't Spiderman land on all 4 limbs then....?
Heh, fair point, although he does have to keep one arm free for rapid fire web blasting and generally looking cool. =)

The request was for "proper super-hero landing" not real world. I also merely admited I liked it. Something about a nano-tech reinforced belly flop from 25 stories speaks to me.
It wasn't a specific critique of your post, I just find it funny how the conversation surrounding things like this inevitably drifts to how it's impractical because of real world limitations... ; )
My personal fave is the first one (from the Animatrix).

Pro-tip:When the concrete craters around the person/character leaving them unharmed, 'real world physics' has fucking nothing to do with the fantasy world they exist in... = P
It's just a flashy way to arrive for someone unconcerned with stealth (because a large crater making explosions is typically hard to cover up.br>

My question then: can anybody provide a video/image-link to a "proper" super-hero landing?
Let's say the conditions are as follows:
A) you need to be mobile afterwards
B) you are holding a potentially breakable/stabby/shooty device
OPTIONAL C) You are jumping/falling from a certain height
Try to give conditions for that landing to succeed for bonus points. Let's also say bonus points for style.
I immediately get a image of parcour-style stuff...
I like this landing.

I dont have evidence from a movie or w/e, but a good landing should look something like this: http://www.monkeysee.com/play/11426-parkour-landing-and-rolling
The idea is you want you legs to absorb some of the force, but also transfer some into the roll. You want to distribute the energy of the fall over the longest period of time (or space - see http://www.ehow.com/video_2360720_break-fall-jujutsu.html). I think the reason the 3 point landing is so bad is also the reason it "looks cool" - its a big impact entrance, it dents the pavement and creates a little shockwave. Unfortunately in real life all reactions have equal and opposite reactions...

Koch Brother Admits Buying Wisconsin Governor
Or who would somehow show them how we demand to be treated.>> ^Peroxide:
It's about time the world had a super hero for the people, like Democracy Man, or Anti-corruption Woman, who just go around and beat the living shit out of people who fuck with the non-rich.

Ann Rice Interviewed on The Hour
Girlfriend read this book. It is so terrible it's beyond words. From the videos quote at the beginning, they'd be more accurate saying it's a "new take on the spiderman legend". I'd say it lampoons every aspect of a super-hero formula, except she's actually being serious.
Main character calls himself "Manwolf", works as a news reporter, boss gets wind of his super-hero persona and unknowingly orders him to investigate the phenomenon. He even saves a busload of children at one point (seriuosly).
It is BAAAAAAD. If you're looking for campy horror you'd be better off reading a Stephen King novel.

That looks less like "superheroine transformation" and more like "what most women do before going out on the town." Except that for most women, it takes significantly longer, so I guess that's something.

promote this delicious Sailor Moon parody!
I only wish it was just Sailor Moon.
Here in Osaka I can't get through the day without my daughter bouncing off the sofa, re-enacting a transformation scene in one of her shows.
