I can honestly say that when I first tried cigarettes, they were great. I liked their flavor and the coolness factor associated with holding one between my fingers.

But after smoking them for a few weeks, I found myself craving harder. Something with a bit more substance.

That's when I found heroin.

I don't know what it was, but I guess cigarettes were my gateway to sucking dick in an alley and killing my grandmother in order to steal her Social Security check. I just needed that next heroin fix so badly, I would do anything for it.

I wish things weren't such gateways to other things.

Damn. Since everyone knows that marijuana is a gateway drug, I guess the next time we see Phelps he'll be living in an alley, sucking dick for crack.
