Waiting for Armageddon

shang says...

my favorite was the Left Behind series by Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins... Great fucking series!

If things start happening like is in Left Behind series and some singular person gets israel and palestine to sign a peace treaty, then I will believe 100% that shit is about to hit the fan and prophecy will be fulfilled, since israel and palestine 7 year peace treaty is supposed to be the first act of the antichrist since the antichrist comes as the perfect peace and globalization politician and unites the world in peace... but that peace only supposed to last 3 and half years before christian persecution begins.

course agnostic, but one of the signs have already started since the 90's atheists openly attacking, belittling and hating christians more and more is a sign and 1948 israel becoming a nation is the first. Which is why lot believe IF things follow a path, then 1948 is what kicked things off.

But regardless it is very interesting times, if we don't kill ourselves first or rise up and slay our politicians we'll soon be in full blown persecution of a police state.

hell right now places like Sweden and Iceland enjoy way more freedoms than USA does, USA has lost it's freedom, political correctness has ruined USA

Rachel Maddow fires PolitiFact

speechless says...

What part of "fact" is confusing? It's depressing that a once respected (and sorely needed) organization like politifact has abandoned its own mission. Worse than that, they are in fact now distorting facts. By presenting facts as 'half-facts' and "truths" as the biggest lies, they've become the demon they were once trying to slay.

DFT & IK, it's so cute how you upvote each other's comments and videos. It sorta reminds me of the Terri Schiavo case, where her husband, Michael, supported her and efforts to bring her back to consciousness for years, even though it was obvious she was vegetative.

What a strange reply to a compliment. Checking the age of a video that I knew I had seen before is no more difficult or time-consuming than viewing your ignored comments. Click. Done.

Wow. You edited your comment after submitting it. How strange. The original was reasonable and to the point ("Alright Fletch. That's enough"). When I got the email, I was just going to respond with something like "no problem, but I don't take kindly to name-calling", or something along those lines, but the new version with "misogynist harassment" sounds like a typical IK comment. You know, buzzwords intended to support a desperate, gutless fabrication. I'm sorry, but there is no way you wrote "misogynist harassment". I've just read way too much of what you've written in the past. You just aren't prone to shrill exaggeration. Buzzwords... that's IK. If I'm wrong... I'm wrong. Sorry about that.

I don't use the sarcasm box. Never will. I think it's stupid. Unfortunately, not doing so gives those who need a windmill to slay an opportunuty to be offended by something, and may give those who wish to offend a free ticket to do so. (I recently saw a comment by Lucky ((?) I think; maybe dag) tell someone that if they didn't check the sarcasm box, they would be banned for a time. Or something. Insane.) If you choose to take what I say literally, and resolve it into "misogynist harassment", then the joke is on you. I'm sorry, but it started with "dipshit". Everything after that was a REPLY. She asked for it. But that's her MO... name-calling, condescension, that strange you-must-really-want-my-attention act that is just so tired/weird, all followed by threats and the circling of wagons when none of those tactics result in the last word. That's my perception/experience with her, anyway. Call me names, it's on. I won't allow anyone to talk to me like that without responding. If she is going to be so thin-skinned about it, she should really consider carefully what she types before hitting "submit new comment".

I am an equal-opportunity stale and stupid cat video down-voter. I have no idea why she thinks she's so special. Maybe she just lives for badges, or something sad like that.

The Religious Mind Is Morally Compromised: Demonstration

hpqp says...

>> ^rebuilder:

The human mind is morally compromised. My proof? The entirety of human history.

This seems like a lazy copout to me. There is plenty of good in the history of humanity, for one, but most of all, the human mind is the basis of humanity's morality. To say someone is morally compromised you need to compare it to moral standards, that are derived and developed by the human mind over time.
>> ^ghark:

I loved how he quickly dealt with the guy that yelled out "it's fictional" - that quieted down what I sensed was an air of religious zealotry in the room.

I really like that too, in fact he makes it clear from the beginning that both scenarios are fictional, in order to refute in advance the "it's okay cuz it's just a story/metaphor" excuse. This always reminds me of Luke 19:27, the end of an absolutely terrible parable Jesus is telling, and I quote: "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."
Whenever I use this example to argue that Jeebs isn't all love and peace either, I am told "well it's a parable". Yes, but what are the moral principles it is trying to convey? That God is a like a tyrant who will destroy anyone who does not obey or refuse his rule.

As for you apologists, no matter which way you twist it, God clearly gives his assent for Job to be tortured and tormented for no reason. Omnibenevolent and omnipotent? Then evil. QED.

All those things you mentioned Jinx have been located by members of the community and can be fixed through the .ini files. Google a bit and you'll find it pretty easy (or look up the post about it at pcgamer.com) While I do agree that it feels like entirely to much of it was a port job, the game itself is good enough I hardly care. Now if you'll excuse me these dragons won't slay themselves...

Ya, I "fixed" everything apart from the sensitivity-framerate scaling.

And it still sucks having to google fixes and mess around in config and setting files just for basic options that SHOULD be included on the fucking menu. The fact the game is good only serves to frustrate me more.

As the the UI, well I got used to it quite quickly. Its a little clunky but I don't think its so awful. I don't doubt that it could be better though. The only think which really annoys me at this point with it is there doesn't seem to be a way to draw one handed weapons on your offhand using it. Spells and Shields default to left hand, and weapons default on the right, but if you want say, a dagger in your offhand you can't equip it using a hotkey. Its rather clumsy.

we eat rice with dinner about 60% of the time.
wash you rice properly, get the ratio right, bang it in a PROPERLY designed microwaveable rice cooker.
cook your stir fry.
BING!
serve and eat.
our thai and japanese friends don't even notice when they come over to eat.
sure doing it the 'authentic way' is hip.

but shit man i got little three kids and those little fuckers will slay you and fingerpaint with your blood and skip rope with your intestines if they don't get fed when dinner time is on.

would you take that chance?

Christopher Hitchens on why he works against Religions

shinyblurry says...

That is not correct, he doesn't know what he is talking about. If you read the passage, it's referring to Christians and not the unsaved. It is the dichotomy between the good and wicked servant:

11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. 12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. 13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. 14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. 15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. 18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. 19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. 20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: 21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. 22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: 23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? 24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. 25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)

25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) 26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. 27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
Luke 19:25-27 (KJV)

>> ^luxury_pie:
So if I am reading this correctly, Christians are planning on murdering us, unless we forsake our personal definition of life and our whole understanding of what it means to be human.
Well don't we have a place for people like that?
I don't want to be murdered... say tomorrow?! That just seems a bit harsh!
