Super Cool Way To Launch A Missile From A Ship
I believe that was an LBMS (Lowest Bidder Missile System). Cheap, but effective in that it sometimes causes the enemy to laugh themselves to death.

Anyone know what the name of this system is?

thats pretty cool. i wonder how many college tuitions each one cost.
Perhaps you should move to a country where they don't spend very much money on their military... Have fun earning your college degree in Gambia.
Oh and.. Just a heads up, there might be a correlation between a nations wealth (The ability to house institutions with quality education) and their military status.

Well considering the cost of tuition these days, each missile costs approximately .25 tuitions.

Ruin - Post-Apocalyptic Short CGI Film
I thought the same thing then I realized he knew his opponent so well (the missles) that he knew they would provided enough light for him to navigate by that's why he waits till he can see the light at the end of the tunnel to destroy them.

Had me until he accelerated with his hand off the throttle!
And went into a pitch black tunnel with no headlight. Little things like that take me out of this. Foliage in the high rises was major overkill,(full trees? Seriously?) the chaser plane and even the seeker missiles it dropped had apocalyptic rust on them...
Lightning at 3000 fps, played back at 24 fps and 12 fps
Looks like Missle Command
Norway Tests New Naval Strike Missile
What I really like is the missle plays music, how cool is that!
.
.... what? oh.
QuakeWorld (QW) Launch Event - 1996
Ah, so you never released your works. Bummer.
>> ^KnivesOut:
I never built any that were distributed to the community. Mostly I just fooled around with making stupidly overpowered weapons for me and my friends.
Seeking missles, mirv grenades, spike mirv grenades, seeking missles that spawned spike mirv grenades... You get the idea.>> ^ant:

IMO, QuakeC is what made Quake something really special. The modding community took it to the next level.
I learned C programming making mods for Quake, before I was even interested in programming professionally.
Which mods? I made two mods for DOOM 2: http://zimage.com/~ant/antfarm/files/doom2/j2doom/j2doom.html ...

Miniature crossbow looks deadly!
Next month: Mini multi-warhead inter-continental ballistic nuclear missles.
Bombs for peace? 'UN completely disgraced in Libya'
>> ^NetRunner:
To me it seems pretty obvious why Libya was urgent for us to get involved in, while not intervening in neighboring countries (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemmen, etc.).
OIL.
Everything in the economic world stayed curiously stable through all the unrest in the middle east, until Libya's oil supply burped for a second. Then everything went haywire on the markets, gas prices immediately jumped like $0.50, and the Dow plunged.
Now I see that today we had a near 200 point rally after the news that we're going to be liberating Libya.
These events are not unrelated. Obama got his marching orders, and then he issued them to the UN, who sent in the missles, bombs, and little kids with guns.
Wall Street is all cheshire smiles today, fat and happy with the knowledge that once more worthless blood will be traded for precious oil.

They constitute less than 3% of our oil in the US, not that big of a deal in that respect. In raw crude, it is less than 2%.
