Whistleblower Exposes Far Right Justices Corruption

luxintenebris jokingly says...

but then...

- Jan. 6 investigations
- stolen state secrets
- nefarious voting legislation
- Oath Keepers membership list

...all of those are BIG stories too.

covering all the Republican corruption sprees, is a bit like trying to get through a russian novel in a week.

the moment the pre-release of the Planned Parenthood v. Casey judgement BOTH sides of the political spectrum questioned if it was a conservative judge that did it. made FAR more sense that it would come from the right than the left. (notice how the investigation has seemly gone the way of the term WMD?)

fits.

incredibly creditable.

(unless you're 'right' minded. then you can't believe a man of the cloth. but then, even Jesus* hung around w/a motley crew.)

we might be weeks away from Blotto Biff being found, drunk, in a fountain w/a staffer and/or Coat hanger Amy being photo'd in an S&M dungeon. (Jerry Farwell, Jr in the background) - then, maybe then - it being kinky af, Fox would have to cover it (they love slime, even if it's slime on THEIR slime).

'til then you did get 3 votes. bob must have voted twice. out of habit.

In the past the most sexual harassment has come from gay men and usually verbally. They are kinky bastards, The most recent episode came from a dude following me down a city block from the train that asked if he could "suck my dick". And I sort of giggled, and was like "nah man". And we had a conversation about it further and I told him, "It's cool, man... I'm just not really into it". He was INSULTED and walked away.

I had also been taken advantage of by a girl who put drugs into my hard liquor. Technically, in my opinion, I think it was a sort of assault because, honestly, I just had no idea what was going on, but, I am cool with it and just left it at that.

There are more instances - but I mean these days I live one train stop to San Fran but not in SF - that is like a suburb in the city and I am cool... I've put it all in perspective and appreciate living just a jump from "The Shit".

I know my friend is strong but yet she does not put up with bullshit. She is also batshit insane as well but in a good way. She approaches life as art every single day. She is a true being and a true woman. We throw around the concept of having a relationship and honestly, I DO love her. When we say goodbye as we have over the last decade she will say "I love you"... I told her how much I love her once but when we part... I just smile. She knows I love her. If the topic is raised I always say to her... it's just not in the cards

No need to apologize.

I just wanted to get that little bit out there.

There is so much misinformation about the nature of this shite.

I didn't want to put my little comment on the comment stream, because I didn't want to distract from the TOTALLY COOL story you shared.

So I snuck it over here, for those folks who read all comments.

I was sharing my bit for my own purposes, sneaky devil that I am. Sorry you thought I was sending a different message -- I totally DID NOT think that you were saying she deserved it.

I think there is something different for men being sexually harassed than there is for women, since you brought it up.

Speaking from experience, I am -- I keep saying that my first reaction was to slough off the assault against me as funny. It was amazing to watch myself descend into this ... quagmire... of sexual objectification within 15 minutes. To be seen as nothing other than a piece of female meat available for this tiny guy to rub against. To feel so invisible as a person was a double violation. Or something.

Women aren't praised for what we do, mostly -- we are praised for what we look like. And when you look at the variety of men and male body shapes that are presented on TV and in the movies, compared to women -- and the active nature of the men versus the passive nature of women presented -- and this is the toxic soup that all young girls grow up in.... To be reduced like that was just horrifying. I was surprised at my reaction.

Men have their own issues, of course. It is not for nothing that men tend to die sooner than women -- the pressures on them are terrible in their own way and it is literally killing them, in my opinion.

So it doesn't surprise me that you could laugh it off and let it stay laughed off. You are used to seeing yourself as active. While I laughed it off, and then got mired in this crappy sexual objectification that is so toxic.

It's all so ugly.

I'm so proud of your beautiful strong friend. She didn't deserve what happened to her, no woman does, and I know you know that. And dang if she didn't fight back with everything she had. That is how this shite stops. Make the bastards accountable. Right now they aren't.

Great story you told. Really great.

I found that especially funny because of these "dress like a slut, get treated like one" type of responses here.
I know, the word "slut" isn't nice and I'm not good a political correctness (I actually loathe it) but maybe the problem is not with the word but with our associations with it.
You see, the problem I have starts with the idea that there's something wrong with sluts. As a man (and therefore certainly a pig, at least in my case) I enjoy sluts tremendously. They are women who share, at least in general terms, my sexual morals and enjoy their sexuality as much as I do (theirs and mine). I see nothing wrong with that. Sure, I dislike STDs as much as anybody but being slutty doesn't mean automatically being careless, just more at risk. Maybe I just don't understand men who like their female sex partners to be well behaved little princesses. They either prefer very conservative sex (you know, when blowjobs seem kinky) or they are strangely rapey. Maybe it's just our manly discomfort of loosing control over female sexuality.
Then there is this notion of dressing "like a slut". Sure, there is unappropriate clothing. I wouldn't go to a funeral in my Spongebob Squarepants pyjamas. But why is it in todays times, in the western world that is covered in billboards full of women in bikinis, so wrong to walk the street dressed in your best "sexy hooker" halloween costume? Are these women on the billboards, the ones who strike sexualized poses to sell me beer, dressed like sluts too? Is a bikini "slutty clothing"? I'm pretty sure my mom once wore one and yours probably too. As long as the important parts are covered, it should be fine.
The real issue, though, is the idea that anybody has a right to comment on that. Loudly.
If I have a right to comment sluttly clothing, can I also comment on other clothing that isn't the percieved norm? Do I get to shout ghost and terrorism related jokes at women in burkas? Can I yell at cops to come and strip-search me because I have a thing for uniforms? Should I yell at anyone with unfortunate clothing choices? "Hey lady, don't shake that ass, it's too fat for these pants! I don't want the Blob to escape!"
No, it's only sexually provocative clothing that gets these reactions. And that's why I like the video above so much, because it shows what kind of comments you get. It's never "young lady, I disagree with your clothing choice and insist you put on something decent!" nor "What a beautiful skirt, is it silk?"
It is always amused, approving and at the same time disrespectful and sexually dominant. Often gleefull and too often actually misogynistic.
These are never positive comments and even if the words seem positive, they're harassment. It's nothing but sexual harassment. Otherwise these men would be yelling "Young lady, I disagree with your clothing choice and insist you put on something decent!"
Dress like a slut, get treated like one, that's just a lame excuse for men trying to control female sexuality.
Personally, I think if you dress like a slut, I should treat you with respect and kindness. Because I want sluts to like me. I'm a pig.

@spoco2 again, it's like comparing youtube to cinema. When was the last time you went and saw a random youtube video and went "This is a masterpiece, far better than what hollywood can produce!" you can't compare the two, THAT is effectively what makes up most of the internet porn, some yokel with a camera, some are good, some are terrible.

There are professional websites, and I'm assuming that they're the exact same thing as YDJ described. But you can't compare the two, it doesn't make sense to even try, again, one is a business, and one is someone who thinks filming themselves is and putting it online is "kinky".

Rape Survivor fights subpoena for google search, diaries

Trancecoach says...

haha, @bareboards2, you seem quite eager to jump into epithets, dear.. even before responding to the question I'm actually asking! It isn't slut shaming so much as it is an inquiry into the facts of the case?
There's a lot of dubiousness when it comes to "he said/she said" accusations, let alone what constitutes "consent" between adults behind closed doors.

Let me reiterate for the third time (since you seem to have missed it the first two times I stated it) that I am not making any claims or suggestions about the facts or issues pertinent to the particular case described in this video (and, while you're attempts to suggest that I am are entertaining, I do feel somewhat insulted by them). My query simply poses the question as to whether a plaintiff's google searches are always immaterial or if there are special hypothetical cases (which I raised as such in my first and subsequent posts on this thread) by which that would not be the case.

In other words, where/how does one draw the line (without casting ad hominems at your interlocutor)?

>> ^bareboards2:

@Trancecoach, an interest in bondage is very far removed from being choked and raped.
This is classic slut shaming, honey. Interested in kinky sex? Oh, but then you changed your mind because you are a dirty dirty girl and are so ashamed of what you did.
The google searches are irrelevant.
What is relevant is what he did to her.
