What the F*ck happened to Hip-Hop?
Anything positive done by a black man in america becomes a threat to the established precedent and will be put down. The state of "hip hop" reflects the system it operates within.
What the F*ck happened to Hip-Hop?
The thing that is funniest to me is that the type of songs he talks about bringing back, other than the ballad of oj from a long time hip hop master, the song with the most true meaning came from a comedian/actor. This is America is the type of old school hip hop/rap song with meaning from the old days and it blew up, so the audience is there. Now we just need the 'disco' mumble rap people to change directions and get involved.
Ankles Are Overrated When it Comes to Dance
Thinking this dude trained a cross of ballet and hip-hop. That shit, as they say, is gangsta.
Michael Jackson - Billie Jean ( cover by Donald Trump )
Austrian Protestant? The last time they were relevant was in the 16th century.
Murderers by faith? Spread the fear, keep stupid people subjugated.
The video is a lame innocent joke with zero actual content and yet what interesting comments. I should google this hip-hop thing.

Most vocals you hear are fake
shiiiit. sure everything is stitched together. that's the modern digital audio workstation (DAW).
What folks don't realize is that Anteres Autotune is THE standard in the studio. Every pop star and song gets their dose.
That, ultra compression on everything and ultra repetition in production, gone are the days of creamy analog bliss by good musicians, performing a well-written song actually written by the artists.
Now everything is done post-production, and Autotune is 'the sound' of today's pop. The writing is done by teams of "producers" who have mastered today's pop sound and format.
And then LAWYERS.
For hip hop, in the 2000's lawyers began suing the shit out of anyone who sampled old stuff. Today, an artist can use samples, but they must PAY quite a bit. So, only artists with labels behind them can AFFORD to sample. Hence, Bruno Mars can sample everything, and steal everything, then autotune the shit out of it. And wha-laa - he's got a super-produced, money-backed hit where his producers just copy the shit out of everyone.
And in the end, Bruno Mars is the P.F. Changs of music - white appropriation all-dressed up, pre-packaged and sold.
METALLICA - Nothing Else Matters Acoustic Cover
So, I've come to accept the fact that I am now hopelessly generation-gapped, but I'm getting the impression that heavy metal (in all its variations) is the most popular of the non-pop/hip-hop genres. I seem to run into a lot of people who I would never guess are into metal that are all about it. Even though personally I only kind of tangentially appreciate heavy metal, I definitely approve of the current situation if I'm correct.
Fantastic Childrens Hospital Ad
*hiphop music -- Cool visual, but its rap/hip-hop music is annoying.
Why Rappers Love Grey Poupon
If you're going to listen to hip hop, that's no way to have your EQ set. Just sayin'
Also Grey Poupon is the only mustard i use. It's way more yummy.

Rapping, deconstructed: The best rhymers of all time
Glad to see appreciation for MF Doom. The Sift has 0 appreciation for hip-hop, I have no idea of why, a little bit of racism, hatred for mainstream, too many dorks, too many burning man types? I don't know.
I mean you look at the hits for some of these artists and it's beyond hundreds of millions of hits if not a billion in some cases. Innovators like MF Doom, Dr. Octagon & Big L never got anywhere close to that sort of popularity.
The new Aesop Rock that came out this month is fucking awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZVlSqjjkic as well as the new Death Grips; open your minds.

Yokay... I was just thinking about your call for upvotes and why I'm not going to upvote this. Which is fine, our tastes differ! I'm sure you haven't upvoted all my nerdy nerd hip hop music videos either.
@Babymech
you could post if you wish,we all consume our media differently for different reasons but i think @ChaosEngine put it best "The inane commenting on the insane."
An Animated Nutcracker -- as in Hip Hop Animation
No idea where the title came from. Has nothing to do with hip hop. It is a dance style called robot.
