8-Bit Dr. Horrible (Act I)
Yes, it makes me sad when I find some beautiful treasure like this and it gets stuck in my sifter's graveyard. I'll have to shoulder tap a few people I know and get them to give this video some lovin.
Dr. Horrible's got his Ph.D. in Horribleness, whereas I have a Ph.D. in pqueue-ness.
important things from the books that didn't make it into the movies (Blog Entry by jwray)
The big brown lopsided ball is the quaffle. Chasers try to put that through a hoop for 10 points. The medium size dark balls are bludgers, which chase after people and try to hit them.
The little one is the golden snitch. If the seeker catches it, he gets 150 points and the game ends. Usually whichever team catches the snitch first wins. Harry is seeker. The whole game is basically a metaphor for harry's role in the stuggle against voldemort. When Krum catches the golden snitch but still loses the quiddich world cup by 10 points, that foreshadows phyrric victory in the little hangleton graveyard.
Grayson Reads Rethink Afghanistan Petition on House Floor
Here here, time to cut and run. Let's not let Afghanistan be our graveyard like it was the Russians.
The EIA channel should be... (User Poll by xxovercastxx)
The channels CAN use tweaking constantly xxovercast-I have imagined another iteration of the site as well. Redefining/refining, all part of the art of those who manage the channels or leave them to evolve...Perhaps a way for users wanting to breathe more life into already established channels and their vids assignments would be to make the channels now mismanaged or abandoned altogether, tweakable by all users with a view to giving the channels here and to come, more vibrancy and character....after all, that's what they all started out as...passion-the passion of the creator, and the energy given to it as the site has evolved.
Some of the folks who have created channels and have disappeared???...Their channels stay as a tribute to their memories...Like fucking tombstones in some forgotten civil war graveyard near a strip center, we have to suffer them and tread lightly-After all...."Theys' dead motherfuckers sleeping underneath us all."
TOOL-undertow secret track 69-DISGUSTIPATED
Believe it or not but this track always spoke to me. Not necessarily because I enjoy it, though I do. But because the first few sentences of the track are familiar to me.
You see about a mile from where I grew up, in the hills south of Ithaca, NY by a small lake called Cayuta Lake there is a grave yard that has some very old graves. Most of them are tied to the mansion that was built about two hundred years ago. I'm talking graves from the early 19th century. Many of them have unusual sayings on them or old prayers. Several are large statues of angels.
On in particular as I remember was from a man who died in the 1860s. He had what appeared to be a stylized Jewish star in brass on the grave stone. Under that was a very dark poem. I always remembered it because it was so unusual.
Years later I got this album and on my CD player I found this track. It struck me immediately, that the first two sentences are EXACTLY the same as was written on that grave. Used to hang out with a friend in that old graveyard and had several odd experiences there. When I played this track for him he about fell over.
I don't know if part of this track is some old and oft unused prayer or from some other writing. But to this day the track brings back that memory.

New Mummies Discovered in Egypt
Everyone gets angry at me when I'm digging in the local graveyard for clues on human behavior, but digging up mummies, that's fine.
Last Flight - When planes go to die
I'm not convinced that those airplanes *are* on the way to the graveyard; that could just be the premise for the vid. "Imagine these planes are taking their final flight" type thing.
That said, there's one such large graveyard in the Mojave, among others:

Last Flight - When planes go to die
No graveyard...? What a crock! That's like porn without the money shot.
Last Flight - When planes go to die
^Beyond glimpses of the gate and the barbed wire, he never shows the graveyard itself. His focus is on the planes going to the graveyard.
Last Flight - When planes go to die
Where's the plane graveyard?
Facebook as the Afterlife (Blog Entry by dag)
I've been moving around quite a bit and so I find that Facebook is helpful in letting me know the goings on of the people I care to know about.
Sadly, it can also become a graveyard for ex-girlfriends and their friends to keep tabs on you. I wish there was a feature to hobble their access to your page so that you don't have to un-friend them, but make it so that they cannot see what you are currently up to.

If I had a sense of humor I would feel inclined to laugh at your bravado. You are whistling in the graveyard and the bell soon tolls for thee.

Siftbot does not take sides. Siftbot only tends its garden. The harvest is coming.
I've told you before
Don't make me tell you again.
You will be my bitch.
