That was cool!
Sorry for the delay in responding but the only kinetic things I have made was a balancing piece (sort of like a weather vane) and magnetic jewelry. Actually my very first rings had magnets, foam and/or felt in them (each "bubble" had a magnet)

See what you think of this one about juggling machines. One is an old fashioned automata (it really cheats using wires rather than juggling), and the other does bounce juggling.

Have you made, or considered making, kinetic sculpture?

Juggling machines? One is an old fashioned automata (it really cheats using wires rather than juggling), and the other does bounce juggling. I did find another video with a real juggling robot while looking for this one, but didn't have space in my queue to post it.

Claude Shannon juggling machines
I found links to the Scientific American article "Science of Juggling" at Professor Arthur Lewbel's tribute to Claude Shannon. I didn't check the quicktime movie linked there, but suspect it cuts off at the same point as this yt embed.
Googling around for that article also led to Juggling by Design by Ivars Peterson.>> ^Mammaltron:
...don't leave me in suspense, what about the mathematical analysis of juggling?

Saw them in Bend, OR last month. Even after the crazy shit in Vancouver they still play a kick-ass show.
I haven't seen them in a while but I've been to so many shows in the 90s & 00s that I've lost count. This one's from their Live in Chicago DVD of 2004 and it's nice to see Claude (the drummer) banging it out like nothing happened. He was in a HUGE car wreck in 2002 and he almost died, poor bugger.

Hello hpqp!
Thank you for sending those to me! NFB is one of my favorite sites to haunt...Those were both adorably dark and awesome, and the animation is spectacular! Right up my alley...you called it.
That is so cool that you live near the animator! Do you live in the same town? Have you met him?
Thanks yet again for the groovy flicks!
