**Also note, "I" was the one putting my son to bed and getting up with him, every night, not my wife - no breast feeding was done - she refused! (same, when my daughter was first born!) Once she gave birth - she was done with them - Postpartum is getting much better now 8 & 12 years later.)

If someone wants to give birth at home, and can afford the experts and equipment to make it safe....why not.

My wife and I looked into several options for our birth, including midwives at a non-hospital location. One thing that turned us off about some of the hospitals is that they pushed hard for pain-killing drugs, which we thought was unnatural and excessive.

As long as the midwives are well trained and there are contingency plans in place, there should be no problem.

There was actually a moment like that in my family. A friend of my father at a party who was talking about how he would love to 'jump her bones' (the popular term of the time,) referring to my 14 year old sister.
