How Rally-Car Drivers Avoid Crashes

When Driver And Co-Driver Don't Mesh

TRRazor says...

I thought this was a pretty normal conversation between a man and his spouse on their way to their honeymoon domicile, right?

"You are to TURN the wheel, Samir!"
"Yeah, yeah, SHUT UP, yeah..."
"TRRRRIPLE CAUTION!!!"

Maher exposes Republicans Secret Rules

radx says...

Between wars of aggression (Iraq, Afghanistan) and the violation of national sovereignty (Pakistan, Libya, Syria, Jemen, Somalia), the running of gulags (Gitmo, Baghram) and torture facilities (airport in Mogadishu), the NDAA and the war on whistleblowers on the one hand and the entire corporate corruption (too big to fail/jail in particular) on the other hand, there's plenty of reason to take a good look at what the latest administrations have been responsible for.

But hey, Benghazi and the IRS are the real scandals, right?

Not Thomas Drake, John Kiriakou and Bradley Manning or Anwar al-Awlaki, Abdulrahman al-Awlaki and Samir Khan. Certainly not HSBC or Gitmo. And neither nightly JSOC raids nor cruise missile attacks, much less torture and kidnapping.

Journalist discusses Drones-Legal?How do they work?

radx says...

That approximation of civilian casualties alone is reason enough to question the intent of this video: objective journalism or propaganda?

Add the "almost supernatural effectiveness" or the grossly misleading "inherent right to self-defence under international law" and I'm inclined to say that this is a disgusting propaganda piece.

When he emphasized the "humane" behaviour of operators (let the children leave before pulling the trigger) and the insinuation that victims of drone attacks are actually thankful for it, well that's just icing on the cake.

What he fails to mention:

-- low rate of civilian casualties: every male of fighting age in the target area is now considered a militant, so everything you hit is a target, unless there is concrete intelligence to prove otherwise, posthumously.

-- pinpoint accuracy: UAVs hit their targets, but the targets themselves are defined as such by piss-poor intelligence or no intelligence at all.

-- guilt by proximity: if you are near a suspect or, generally speaking, in a strike-zone, your mere presence makes you a suspect yourself, as defined by the Obama administration. Now try to square this definition with previous accusations that terrorists embed themselves into the civilian population.

-- double-tap: again, your mere presence at the site of a strike, even if your intent is to provide medical assistance, turns you into a target (eg Collateral Murder). And better stay away from funerals as well, or else they send you a present.

-- US citizens Anwar al-Awlaki, Abdulrahman al-Awlaki and Samir Khan were intentionally killed by drone strikes, without trial.

-- collateral damage: when you kill a person's family, you provide that person with a non-ideological reason to fight the US, a personal vendetta. Recent drone attacks in Yemen increased the numbers of AQAP members by killing civilians left, right and center.

-- covert killings, proxy warfare: the use of UAVs, particularly in Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen, reminds us of the good old days. Death from above or how I learned to love the drone.

What if the Tea Party Was Black?

Winstonfield_Pennypacker says...

Did you wake up the neighbors laughing as you wrote that?

Not a bit of it. The NBP have a history - as an organization - of racism and advocating violence. This is the NEW BP organization I'm talking about - not the BP (which is different). The NBP site here is plainly motivated by race from start to finish. Just look at thier objectives. Every single one of thier objectives is filled with racial terms. Stuff like, "Black police officers are black men first and police officers second..." and "100% opposed to white takeover of the inner city" and "we affirm that governments, corporations, and white private citizens ... have enslaved, discriminated against, robbed, and disenfranchised our people in ... countless ways" sure sound like racist terms to me.

http://www.newblackpanther.com/newsite/92.html

Being a 'racist' means you look at things through a prism of race. It cannot be denied that the NBP organization is racist. 100% through and through. But I can find no Tea Party organization that makes race a major platform of its goals or objectives or even talks about race at all. Show me the quote from an official spokesperson who is authorized to speak for the Tea Party that is making these so-called racist statements. There is no such animal.

http://theamericanteaparty.org/

Small government. Free Markets. Constitution. Fiscal responsibility. What's absent? Race. The Tea Party opposes POLICIES, not color. I don't get how so many people who otherwise seem reasonable can fall for such a blatantly obvious lie. The last time I saw this level of blind, wilful idiocy was the defense of Bill Clinton's perjury and the whole "It's only about sex" bilge.

And you need to learn to seperate the message from the messenger wulf. Just because the HuffPo is a neolib leftwing haven doesn't mean they don't get some of thier facts right. Just like Breitbart is a neocon rightwing bastion and sometimes does really good reporting alongside their screeds.

The site I linked is clearly a right wing bunch, and some of their stuff is good and some of it isn't. But the videos in the main page are what they are and show the ugly face of racism - and it ain't in the Tea Party. "Minister" King Samir Shabazz is what the link says. The NBP organization's leader is Malik Shabazz - also a known anti-semite, racist, and mysoginist. Samir talked about the killing of 'cracker babies' and the closest Malik ever got to repudiating it was saying he 'didn't agree in that context'. Nice.

The NAACP issues charges of racism at the Tea Party with no evidence but unverified comments from random, unidentified kooks. At the same time they ignore clear, blatant racism from orgs like the NBP. And then they wonder why no one takes them seriously anymore.

Condoleezza Rice still "Proud Of Decision" To Invade Iraq

9516 says...

Iraqi Airways, nearly grounded by decades of mismanagement and economic sanctions under the regime of Saddam Hussein, is back on the runway with a multibillion-dollar order for a fleet of new Boeing passenger planes to service domestic routes and reclaim a share of the increasingly lucrative Middle East market.

Iraqi Ambassador to the U.S. Samir Sumaida'ie says Iraqi Airways' $5.5 billion order for Boeing airplanes is a clear sign that Iraq is taking on some of the costs of its reconstruction.

Iraqi officials hail the deal as a symbol of the country's slow but steady economic rebirth, and also as a sign that they are finally translating the country's vast oil wealth into tangible gains for ordinary Iraqis.

Outlandish - 'Look Into My Eyes' - Song About Palestine

gwaan says...

While I condemn what Samir Quntar did he is no worse than the soldiers of the IDF who routinely murder Palestinian children, or the Israeli politicians who order such attacks. Furthermore, the vast majority of Palestinian's held in Israeli jails are held for bravely fighting against the daily murder, oppression and humiliation of the Palestinian people. Most Palestinians are held many times during their lives on trumped-up charges with no basis. From an early age they are regularly imprisoned for daring to resist an illegal occupying force. Young Palestinian's learn that if they do nothing they will be arrested or killed, if they are engaged in peaceful direct action they will be arrested or killed and if they fight they will be arrested or killed - so most choose to fight for their freedom.

I'll be Godfucking damned! It really floors me that folks have this hang up on context and intent!-I thought I had explained myself well, that My intent was to post a viddy, depicting the horror of a captive of recent history, in the hands of Muslim extreemists, instead finding a segment of a soon, or not to be, released ficticious depiction of similar, the movie of the title mentioned. The clip depicted a group of radicals, on camera, beheading a ficticious girl, who then morphs into a demon....Please, for a cheap-seated freak, explain if you have the time, the phenomenon that my vidie submission just experienced, in the matter if an hour, without, comments left?
or if they did, how do I find it ??? it s now=where???..if so, that sucks!

Sorry, looks like that clip you were looking for died from neg. votes
