No One Likes M. Night Shyamalan
I haven't seen that new Will Ferrel movie with Mark Wahlberg where they're cops, but it looked possibly funny from the trailers. I think Wahlberg is a better actor than most people give him credit for...agree with whoever said he's probably bad at picking scripts/directors. I thought his character was great in The Departed, no matter what you think of the movie.
As for Shymalan, big WTF to the water thing in Signs. I can't think of a bigger disappointment and letdown in a movie, though I'm sure there are worse...it'd be tough to come up with a list that tops it IMO. Also, I liked The Village even though the twist ending was questionable, I enjoyed the rest.
The rest of his movies have been mostly terrible, IMO...I'm one of the people groaning in the theater. His name attached to a movie has obviously ceased to be a reason to see something for the vast majority of people...and Devil looks like a massive shitpile.

Well he can play a support once in a blue moon, but he CAN NOT carry a film on his own. I still get pretty twisted up when I recall of Planet of the Apes. Yes I blame Burton as well for his casting an actual ape to play lead, alongside greats like Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Roth. Bottom line Mark Walberg Ruins Films more often than not. Someone dispute this!
>> ^RedSky:
He's quite an inconsistent actor but when I see him nail roles like in The Departed, it makes me wonder if he's just terrible at picking scripts and in this case directors.>> ^rosekat:
Mark Wahlberg is the other thing people hate about it. And in general.
>> ^swedishfriend:
The Happening had the least ridiculous premise of all his films yet that is what people hate about it. The wind noises was the ONLY thing wrong with that film! Fuck anyone who thinks otherwise!

"'Downfall' Hitler Parodies" Yanked by YouTube (Parody Talk Post)
@dag:
Hmm. I mentioned before that these downfall parodies are not nearly as funny for people who speak german.
And thats not a content issue, it is just hard to tune out and pretend you can´t understand what he is really saying. It´s like once you can read an alphabet, it is impossible to not read something that is written before your eyes.
MARK WAHLBERG HAS THREE NIPPLES!
See? It doesn´t work!
It´s the same when you watch these parodies even though you try really hard to focus on just the subtitles.
That doesn´t mean I don´t see the humour in these, though. I can totally see how this is hilarious for non german speakers. Some of them are quite well done and I have even posted some here on the sift.
I also don´t think it is disrespectful of the film or the scene. Actually I think it is quite the opposite! People turning this into a meme that shows the essence of hitlers nuttyness is really an applause to Bruno Ganzs brilliant performance in this film.
Also Hitlers outrageous and globally known character is just begging for parody, so I think it only figures they chose this tantrum scene.
And on the takedown request: I think its just a bunch of corporate pricks who act like kids saying "this is mine!". (btw: It could also be that these are just being deleted alongside other Constantin clips. Might not have been a specific request for the Downfall clips!)
Apparently director Oliver Hirschbiegel did not mind them and even thinks they are funny.
I remember another example by the way, where the boys from The Chasers war on Everything put subtitles under a Osama bin Laden video. I think those were quite brilliant!

Mark Wahlberg Interview and Lap on Top Gear
I wish SNL would put Mark Wahlberg in a New Kids on the Block skit.

I thought it was so ridiculous that it was funny from the beginning. It's possible I was just getting delirious due to the late hour.
In reply to this comment by spoco2:
It's funny... he's playing the whole thing very nicely, that had to have been before the clip of him in SNL, because, well, he's talking about as if he hadn't seen Andy yet.
It's all just a cross promotion in joke.
And it's quite funny now that he's in on it, because the original sketch was terrible, but maybe that was the whole idea.
