Kitten pics and Meow Meow Lullaby
Posting it was actually an attempt to get the song out of my head! The kittens are an experiment... I have another, live, version to dump in the queue tomorrow, and if this one goes nowhere by then I'll stuff it in the discard closet >> ^rottenseed:
upvote for the song.

Further proof of my theory of children being bastards.
Well, you had to start somewhere love
Steven Spielberg explains the ending of A.I.
The whole thing felt like a lullaby or a story told to you as a child to get you to sleep. That's the one reason it stands out is that it is a dark movie, but overall it felt more like I woke from a strange dream.
I'm still unsure whether to think it was a good one or a bad one.
The Daily Show - Olivia Munn Is The New Correspondent
^Yep. Her mother is ethnically Chinese, but was born and raised in Vietnam. Her mother probably considers herself more Vietnamese since that's her language and heritage, but since Daughter Munn is probably most concerned with explaining her own face, she always labels herself half Chinese.
She probably also considers being Vietnamese lower than being Chinese. This is a pretty common thing among American Vietnamese kids with parents who have even just a sliver of Chinese blood. ("My mom was born and raised in Vietnam, speaks Vietnamese, eats Vietnamese food, wears Vietnamese clothes, sings Vietnamese lullabies, and practices Vietnamese traditions, but I'm half Chinese.")
She is one screwed up chick, but entertaining nonetheless (on both counts, probably largely because as a child her mother reportedly beat her, sometimes with the Yellow Pages, for minor household infractions).

Leonard Cohen - The Future
This is a great performance. I do offer a couple of clarifications. Leonard Cohen was 74 at the time of this concert; he turned 75 Sept 21, 2009. You may also note that the lyrics shown are the original words During the World Tour, "Give me crack and anal sex" have been replaced by "Give me crack and careless sex." This shift is not new but has been invoked intermittently since the song was first released. Finally you might be interested in Cohen's latest songs. During the Leonard Cohen World Tour, 3 songs, Feels So Good (AKA The Other Blues Song), The Darkness, and Lullaby have been played for the 1st time, raising speculation they may be released on a new album. While each has been sung only a few times, multiple versions exist with different lyrics and arrangements. A summary of each song's performances and lyrics with videos and mp3s can be found at these posts:

anyone know who painted the first image.. the back lit, translucent waves?
That painting was made by none of the painters mentioned in the description. The painting is a brightened portion of Moon and Sea by the Russian artist George Dmitriev

Cal, this is a wonderful song, I am quite familiar with it. Sam Beam is a brilliant song writer.

If you go to the man's site, there's a jukebox with several songs that will loop for you: http://www.ironandwine.com/
One of them is called "16 Maybe Less" and, vin, I'm going to threadjack for a minute here. There's no good video of that song but like I say you can go listen to it and I'ma post its lyrics right here. It made drunken Calvados sappy one night.
http://lyricwiki.org/Iron_%26_Wine:16,_Maybe_Less
Beyond the ridge to the left, you asked me what I want
Between the trees and cicadas singing round the pond
"I've spent an hour with you, should I want anything else?"
One grinning wink like the neon on a liquor store
We were 16, maybe less, maybe a little more
I walked home smiling, I finally had a story to tell
And though an autumn time lullaby
Sang our new-born love to sleep
My brother told me he saw you there
In the woods one Christmas Eve
Waiting
I met my wife at a party when I drank too much
My son is married and tells me we don't talk enough
Call it predictable, yesterday my dream was of you
Beyond the ridge to the west, the sun had left the sky
Between the trees and the pond, you put your hand in mine
Said, "Time has bridled us both, but I remember you too"
And though an autumn time lullaby
Sang our new-born love to sleep
I dreamt I travelled and found you there
In the woods one Christmas Eve
Waiting
