Conspiracy by liberals to ruin Dick Cheney

Krupo says...

This does not belong in woohoo. Read the description instead of just blindly adding it, especially the second time.

I did. Especially this part:
"and anything else that we find suitable.."
Kinda vague, kinda broad. But, I've been sufficiently scolded and will learn my lesson now to never ever again be confused by the confusing language in some of the FAQ.

<sigh>

People can't clearly read my mind or follow my history of several thousand comments, so I have amended the channel description to be more explicit. A move which, in retrospect, is long overdue.

A SiftHome for fans of Our Favourite Family (the Simpsons), Futurama, and allied 'adult cartoon' shows (Adult Swim, Bromwell High...) as well as crazy foreign stuff like Rabbits in Prison and anything else that we find suitable in the Groeningian sense. Homeric references, for example, are lauded with inclusion to this channel. All Homeric or Groeningian references are to be explained if not obvious.

I don't see anything in this vid which would justify inclusion - there's no TWIST to this rampant political corruption. It's just "real" not funny. More sad than anything. Happy we're indicting him, but that's what the *happy channel is for.

Hulu - Not worth it

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this. My girlfriend finally figured out what Death Note was all about by watching it on Hulu - they even had it subbed, not the suck-ass dub-job that Adult Swim airs.

Yeah, I know I can download it off torrents, but I've got enough downloaded stuff I still need to burn off my hard drive. Streams are pretty cool, in that respect.

No, its not perfect, but Hulu is decent enough. I do hate the fact that they have to throw their ad in at the start of every clip on their site... at least Zero Punctuation's ads are all at the end...

Yes it is ironic. When I originally submitted it it was on YouTube, then they pulled 'em from YouTube and the Adult Swim embeds worked for Canada. Then they disabled them for Canada so I can't watch it now. Thanks for checking that for me.

Yep it works. And might I say it's pretty funny that you've submitted a video you can't even watch (though I'm sure you could when you submitted it).

Hey Lucky

Can you check something for me? Someone just marked this video of mine dead:

I think it is just blocked (which it is marked as) and not dead, but I can't confirm that since it's blocked for me...

Thanks

A quick note. My son is now six. Not five. A lot has changed in the last year for him, as far as what he can be exposed to. Last year I was horrified to catch him watching family guy. He is still forbidden to watch adult swim cartoons and anime. (except the ones on regular tv like dragon ball z)
I think a lot of this debate can be boiled down to the context. You're looking at the game not as glorified tag, but as a violent killing spree. I can see your angle, but I disagree. If for one minute I thought he got pleasure from the killing aspect of it, rather than scoring a frag, I'd end his playing. It's just fun tag to him. There isn't a shred of meanness. If there were, If he was shouting DIE DIE DIE at the screen, you'd be right to be alarmed. I would be.
My position on swearing is that I don't allow it around him because I'm afraid he'll do it at school. I have a very liberal position on nudity. I think the general American position that sex and sexuality is bad couldn't possibly be more wrong and twisted. I fully intend to vaccinate my two daughters for HPV for instance. But that's another discussion all together isn't it?

So, I guess our sole argument is purely over our own definitions of what is 'too much' for our kids. I can see your point about him treating it like tag I guess, and indeed I like your attitude that if he was gaining enjoyment from the 'kill' then that'd be it for the game.

I too don't like any swearing around our kids either, not because I think swearing is inherently wrong, but because they don't understand the effect such language can have on others, and when it's appropriate. When they can better understand that then I have no issue with swearing around them. (But I can't imagine that being for quite some time)

Also nice to hear of your stance on nudity, how people can get so wound up over their kids seeing a naked person, but not bad an eyelid when they watch a violent film is beyond me.

New Wonder Twins - Drag Race

chilaxe says...

Wikipedia:

In 2002, a series of Wonder Twins shorts appeared on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, produced by J.J. Sedelmaier Productions, who also produced the Harvey Birdman series. The shorts portrayed the Wonder Twins and Gleek as naïve and ineffectual, usually resulting in a dark-humored outcome. ...

These shorts are parodies of segments during the Super Friends animated series in which the teens acted completely on their own in dealing with minor problems, usually involving some danger encountered in the life of an average teen, such as speeding. Cartoon Network has also made several commercials parodying the Super Friends. One such commercial made fun of the ineffectiveness of Zan's powers wherein he says "I could get beaten by a sponge... it wouldn't even have to be an evil sponge!"

The only other episodes I've seen around the web are Gopher Meat, Make Out Mountain, and Joyride, which have all made it onto the sift.
