Ugh, this meme was spreading on Michelle Malkin's site a while back. The truth is, we have no idea what this man's situation is. He might have just lost his home and had the cellphone before he went homeless. And cellphones are really important now; it's hard to get a job if there's no way to contact you.

Everyone I have ever known who is homeless, who is not completely insane, or drugged up , owns a cell phone, and has a pre-paid plan. The fact that you can't buy a phone that's only a phone any more means that having a camera on your phone has not been a sign of status for at least a couple of years. I still have my pre-paid phone from when I was homeless about 6 years ago, $5 a month and it still works fine (but no camera).

I was a squatter when I was younger. We had our mail sent to friends' houses.
