"Your papers please" - Toronto's pre-G20 Gestapo Week

Out of town cops demand that these guys show some ID if they want to enter the secure zone. Normally this is not permitted in Canada, but our provincial government gave the cops expanded powers for the G20 period in the zone of the fence you see behind these guys, and for 5 metres out - which allowed them to demand ID.

There's one element of "LIES" here - the guys could get away with not showing ID if they were to leave immediately. You could argue the cop was simply letting them stay - but giving them the condition for staying.

Until Friday the 25th most people had no idea that this law was in effect. This was recorded on June 24, when it blew up in the news.
