"Who are you?" A guide for the LAPD on how to ID LASD deps.

In 1987, a pair of LAPD officers came upon an unmarked LASD car. They mistook the occupants, fully uniformed LA county deputies, as felony suspects who were forced to exit their unmarked car and ordered to lay prone in the street at gunpoint. Even after a LAPD Sergeant came to the scene, the deputies' IDs were still called into question.

The result is the LA Sheriff's Department putting together this "training video" to help LAPD officers identify deputies in the field.
