Can someone explain to me why Americans hate health care so much?

Seriously, this is pretty much a settled question in the rest of the developed world. State-run health care is considered a no-brainer. Does it have problems? Of course, but nothing like the issues you have in the US.

Even the most hardline conservative in the UK (for instance) wouldn't DARE suggest abolishing the NHS. People may not like the implementation, but no-one thinks it's wrong in principle.
