Visible shockwaves from massive volcanic explosions(Iceland)

Ómar Ragnarsson ( http://blog.eyjan.is/omarragnarsson/ ) shot this rather amazing video at 5am this morning. It shows massive explosions in the volcano and resulting shockwaves traveling through the ash plume (that's just starting it's journey to Europe where it will wreak havoc on air traffic).

The "sparks" that can be seen flying in the video are building-sized clumps of lava.
