Toy Dolls - Nellie the Elephant

This childrens' song was written originally in the mid-fifties by Ralph Butler and Peter Hart and sung by Mandy Miller. It remained obscure to all but children of the fifties until 1982, when the Toy Dolls, an up-and-coming punk band with a taste for silly humor, released this cover, which would make it to #4 on the UK Singles Chart within two years of its release.
