Tory MP Phillip Lee Defects to Lib Dems As Johnson Speaks

Conservative MP Philip Lee has quit the Tories, dramatically crossing the floor of the Commons while Boris Johnson addressed MPs. It leaves the government without a working majority in parliament. The MP for Bracknell, who has been a staunch campaigner for remain, said he quit over the way Boris Johnson was pursuing a “damaging Brexit” that could “put lives at risk" and stating the Tories are " infected with the twin diseases of popularism and English nationalism."
This move makes it nearly impossible for Johnson to pass legislation, making Brexit even more uncertain.
