Hemp is a plant whose vegetable fibers have been used in the making of fabrics, the manufacture of espadrilles and in rope making. Manuel Abad was an expert ropemaker from Cornago (La Rioja) who showed us in 1998 how a rope was made before the mechanization of this craft put an end to the traditional technique.
