One of Pixar's most expensive animated sequences to date, Dash's "100 mile dash" was one of the director's primary goals from the film's conception. A huge success, it is renowned as one of the finest moments in CG film in this decade. Cutting no corners, the director demanded the highest quality of animation even in reference to the fleeting backgrounds. In addition, this scene is moment in which Dash discovers the extent of his super powers.
