This is the amazing story behind a fossil dubbed Archaeoraptor. The theory that birds evolved from dinosaurs seemed to be proved by this single fossil. Then, the mysterious circumstances behind this fossils journey to the scientific community seemed at first to destroy the bird-dinosaur link, only to surprise once again with far greater promise.
