Republicans attack Kay Hagan for talking with nonbelievers

The National Republican Senatorial Committee finds it appropriate to criticize North Carolina Senate candidate Kay Hagan for "inviting nonbelievers onto her platform".

How is it acceptable to criticize a candidate for talking to all kinds of denominations of faith and not just the religious one?
