Princess Leia's Stolen Death Star Plans (Sgt. Pepper parody)

Gizmodo: Someone Has Turned Every Song on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Into a Star Wars Parody

Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans (say it out loud in the same rhythm as you would Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart’s Club Band) is the project of Palette-Swap Ninja, who has gamely rendered a parody of every Sgt. Pepper’s song as the story of A New Hope. Here’s the crazy part: They’re all really good!

As detailed on Palette-Swap Ninja’s website, there are many ways to listen to the album, including downloading it for free. But I’m partial to the YouTube playlist, if only because a) it lets you see the lyrics and b) the videos by Katrin Auch are amazing.

I basically fell in love with this at “Luke is in the desert and whining,” which are basically the best alternative lyrics for “Lucy in the sky with diamonds” I have ever seen.

Palette-Swap Ninja says it took them years to do this, and I believe it. Because it’s not just getting the lyrics right. They’ve also inserted some of John Williams’ Star Wars themes into this. This whole project is impressive. Most impressive.
