posted as of today: An important milestone today for the successor to the space shuttle. Construction on the first space-bound Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Module began with the first weld at the Michoud Assembly Facility Friday afternoon! This isn't a test capsule. It's the spacecraft that will be used for Orion's first test flight in space. ~National Aeronautics and Space Administration
