Milly Dowler's Family to Recieve 2 Million Pounds

The family of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler is set to receive a £2m phone hacking payout as part of a settlement with News International.
It is understood the settlement will be made within the next "couple of days" and an additional £1m will be paid to charity, a total of £3m.
The payment will come after News Corporation chief executive Rupert Murdoch personally apologised to the Dowler family in the summer for the hacking intrusion.

The family were among a string of crime victims and celebrities who are said to have had their phones hacked by reporters at the News Of The World, the Sunday tabloid which was published by News International.
The expected payout will dwarf any of the others connected with the phone hacking scandal so far.
Actress Sienna Miller received £100,000 and football pundit Andy Gray got £20,000, but it is reported the PR consultant Max Clifford may have received £1m.

It is expected News International, the News Of The World's parent company, will announce the agreement at a press conference later this week.
A News International spokesman said: "News International confirms it is in advanced negotiations with the Dowler family regarding their compensation settlement.
"No final agreement has yet been reached, but we hope to conclude the discussions as quickly as possible."
The news of the alleged hacking of Milly Dowler's phone is widely seen as a turning point in the hacking story.

Voicemails were accessed on behalf of the News Of The World, and messages left for her were deleted to make room for more recordings.
This gave the family false hope that she was still alive, because messages were disappearing.

Milly, 13, was murdered by nightclub doorman Levi Bellfield in 2002.
