This is why I love maths, but hate numbers. Numbers get in the way.

I learned a lot of this stuff when I trained as a technical illustrator. You can work stuff out with numbers, but it's often a lot easier just to draw the patterns and work to those.

During a physics degree, you're taught over and over and over and over and over and over to draw diagrams. Sometimes, you can notice something devastatingly simple that reduces what you think is a nightmare of maths into a simple number.

i liked when she talked about infinite circles branching from the corners of the other circles. i've always been astounded at the concept of infinity. the fact that infinity is larger than any number, and yet there is an entirely separate infinity between the numbers 1 and 2.
