Making a Katana

When I first watched Highlander in the 80's and Connery's Rameirez states that McCleod's katana was folded 200 times, I thought "I know nothing about Japanese sword smithing"...turns out, neither did these writers.

This more recent doc looks at the raw material, furnace, smelting, forging, sharpening and some metalurgical properties of 16th century sword making process. I was looking for one that was made in the 70's that captured the process, but this has some good diagrams, if light on the process.
