Japanese diplomat who rescued 1000s of Jews from Lithuania

(12min) Chiune Sugihara, Japanese Vice-Consul in Lithuania during WWII (then under soviet control), disobeyed his government and issued hundreds of visas to Jews desperate to escape the advancing Nazis, even if they didn't have papers, at great risk to his family. I have seen his monument in Vilnius. Unfortunately it sometimes gets defaced by disgusting idiots.
