FC Barcelona comprehensively beat Getafe (5-2) in the first leg of their Spanish Cup semi-final tie at Camp Nou on 18th April 2007.

In the 28th minute of play, Messi picked up the ball from Xavi on the right flank, still in his own half of the field, and skilfully slid through two defenders. Once started, the Argentinian went on to successfully run at all the other Getafe players coming at him, eventually making it into the opposition's box. Goalkeeper Luis, his last rival, was left only to contemplate a composed Messi dribbling past him and finding the net with his right foot.
