How to Weaponize the Magnus Effect (Buckets Of Death)

The Magnus effect is an amazing phenomena: It can lift rotating objects up into the air, seemingly defeating gravity.

Bruce Yeany brought out a cool video showing how to make flyers from paper cups - glued together at the bottoms and launched with rubber bands rolled up over the middle of the twin cups, the flyers go straight up into the air, hovering for a while before they gently land.

Here at The Slingshot Channel, we took this as a challenge to weaponize the effect. Our ideas are a bit crazy and certainly very very dangerous (don't do this at home) - but we had boatloads of fun!
