How the Planck satellite surveys the sky

These three short animations illustrate how the Planck satellite gathers data from the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation and how that information is plotted in the easily recognizable Mollweide projection, first with elliptic coordinates and then with the better known galactic coordinates.
