Greenville Ca, 8-5-21 After Burning To The Ground Overnight

Last night the Dixie fire in N California burned historic Greenville to the ground. Over 75% of the town is just gone, including all of downtown. Greenville is about 80 miles NE of Paradise that burned in 2018. While the cause is not officially determined yet, PG&E admits their equipment may be responsible for this fire. They had just exited bankruptcy after starting multiple wildfires including the disastrous Camp fire that burned Paradise. They just last week announced a billion dollar effort to bury their transmission lines to avoid further fires and outages trying to avoid them…but may not have the money to even start after paying for the Dixie fire.
