Five minutes with Iain Banks

In honour of Iain (M.) Banks' passing.

Without even a shadow of a doubt, one of my favourite ever authors. Witty, graceful, intelligent, moral and a genuine joy to read.

When I reached the end of the interviewer, and he asked for 10 minutes more and Banks replied "I don't see why not", I nearly starting crying.

10 minutes, 10 months, 10 more years would be fantastic. But it's not going to happen. So I'm going to go home tonight, and sit in silence with a bottle of single malt and a copy of Use Of Weapons.

Goodbye, Iain. I never met you, but I'll genuinely miss you.
