This is probably closer to the truth than Family Guy fanboys want to admit. I imagine a room where the "writers" watch old South Park and Simpsons episodes and write their "ideas" on note cards, which are then thrown into a big cage drum which is then drawn from for each week's episode. No, I don't think they use manatees. That would be cruel.
