Japanese Brazilians are celebrating 100 years of immigration.

Hundreds turned out on the streets of Sao Paulo to welcome Crown Prince Naruhito to the country, during his 12 day tour coinciding with the anniversary.

Al Jazeera's Gabriel Elizondo reports on how Japan has helped shape Brazil's multicultural character.
