Anti-nuclear debate: democracy now

I saw the post pertaining to the development of a different type of nuclear energy.
The comments were all 'pro nuclear'. I am personally on the fence on this debate.
I think this is the time to start developing, and manufacturing green technologies
so as to regain our relevance in the global market. But I can't help but to notice
a trend; whenever new ideas or concepts are presented in our policies, it is always
fear that determines whether or not the policy will become viable. That is what
I see in this video, and it's somewhat surprising to be coming from the liberal base,
as opposed to the fear mongering right. He does make some good points about the
nuclear plants leaking, and the problems with nuclear plant development in some European countries.
