Your Brain On Ayahuasca: The Hallucinogenic Drug
I don't know how to answer that Dag
Yes, I have seen the "entities" - more real than here... yet, I try not to focus on that aspect of the experience
I try to explain them in the video link I posted above... but they don't always appear the same way, the energy is basically the same though.
Quote hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
When you smoked DMT, did you see the machine elves or extra-dimensional beings that people like Terence McKenna describe? I find that pretty interesting.
Your Brain On Ayahuasca: The Hallucinogenic Drug
Also, in regards to age... I'd say ayahuasca is definitely for older people, when I was in ceremony almost everyone was 30+. And it makes sense, it is definitely not just love and good vibes with some slight alterations to your normal perceptions
To add to that - Santo Diame considers taking ayahuasca "THE Work". They take it at church every weekend, including their kids (lol), they are very serious about it as an integral spiritual/religious tool.
Your Brain On Ayahuasca: The Hallucinogenic Drug
DMT(ayahuasca) are not recreational, no matter which way anyone wants to flip it. The Universe in 5 minutes... an eternal life/death scenario. I was taking ayahuasca to mediate upon my father's death 2 months prior, along with a shaman I respected deeply, I also respect the "traditions" (in that I find the anthropological history incredibly rich) but I realize after "figuring out" DMT on my own that I think my way is best (standard psychedelic procedure, alone) and is the most important thing that I can learn from it. That this is my journey into the soul and I don't need anyone else in my way during my experiences; shamans have a way of influencing the experience, but the experience itself and YOU are the real guide, no need for a shaman with smoked DMT
Ayahuasca is definitely an incredible experience and plant... I just prefer my way of visiting "that" realm of infinite knowledge. Tell us how it goes

Some things I did not like about Santo Diame were Christian dogma (with a lot of beliefs taken from many religions), they want you to stay with the circle even though you may be compelled to find somewhere that is quiet and away from everyone else, they separate men from women half circle men, half circle women, guide in between, they do not want talking, but the music is incessant and influences the experience (when the lights go out, be prepared to experience hell on fucking Earth), I couldn't stand the "helpers" at the ceremony I went to, they kept urging people to drink more - there were a lot of aspects that I didn't like about it. But, I certainly wouldn't want to take ayahusca alone, either. Instead, I believe the best way, for me at least, would be one on one with the shaman, in an open place, preferably outside and for him to just chant and check in with me every once in a while.
Also, you can check out the video I made about my smoked DMT breakthrough experience
Your Brain On Ayahuasca: The Hallucinogenic Drug
I took ayahuasca with a brazillian religion called Santo Diame... in the US, we would call them a cult. And cult-like it was! I've smoked DMT many times and I fully encourage "explorers" to start small and smoke it instead of ingesting ayahuasca. It's all very difficult to figure out scientifically, but one of the interesting aspects of ayahuasca to me, was that you could close your eyes and be in another dimension, open them up and basically feel drunk and know everything was OK, get up and walk around.

However, the visions that I had were absolutely violent, with archetypes of the day of the dead and greek mythology emerging while people puked and cried while I was attached to their sound and energies, brains exploding, the power of life telling me it was going to get me, I could fight it all I wanted (I just smiled the whole time), but it was going to get me - and then it let me slide, eventually. DMT has a known effect, that is of "ego-death" or "near death experience"... and I definitely fought it off, having experienced it before. It was a deranged, somewhat fun, somewhat enlightening, traumatic experience that I would recommend to no one. And I can see that it's definitely not a lone man/woman mission as in to dose yourself with this stuff because it's definitely more intense than LSD or mushrooms and the mixture, though simple - would require a bit of practicing and knowledge about it.
I just find smoking DMT to be way better, shorter and much safer, but also WAY more intense and awesome. But, it's certainly not for everyone, it's like unlocking the unknown/impossible laws of the Universe, it's impossible to understand but you understand it while you are there as it is communicated to you; might be just in your brain but somehow nature provided this (bizarre/impossible) experience for you to be able to have.... ---- do not understand
How It's Made - McDonald's Fries
I think I believe this, they still add needless chemicals and even admitted it. Pre-fried, frozen & fried again... They may be telling the truth, but not in a way that implies that this process is most definitely very unhealthy - and I'm not being snobby, if I'm hungry while traveling and all there is - is McDonalds I'll eat it and not even grumble about it, though I wish all McDonalds were replaced by In & Out's
Climatologist Emotional Over Arctic Methane Hydrate Release
Nah man, I'm pretty sure the only option is perma-death. Game is over and then start a new game!
Yeah, but I hear the respawn points are only available to Hindus and Buddhists.
Climatologist Emotional Over Arctic Methane Hydrate Release
Sweet, I've been waiting for a new open-world survival game to play, this sounds next-gen!
How LSD and Shrooms could help w/ Mental Health disorders
I've never really found LSD that useful in any way to be honest. Shrooms (psilocybin) are a form of DMT (4-HO-DMT). For both experience and medical reasons, DMT or ayahuasca & Iboga are the two that are the most promising. Both ayahuasca & iboga have been used to overcome addictions and mental disorders and the experiences they contain are nearly in a whole other ballpark from all other types of "drugs". It'll probably take another 50 years for the establishments to admit to their health benefits or that they should be studying how they interact with the brain. Anyone who has experienced them knows it's going to take science a long fucking time into the future to only sort of understand.
Rapping, deconstructed: The best rhymers of all time
Glad to see appreciation for MF Doom. The Sift has 0 appreciation for hip-hop, I have no idea of why, a little bit of racism, hatred for mainstream, too many dorks, too many burning man types? I don't know.
I mean you look at the hits for some of these artists and it's beyond hundreds of millions of hits if not a billion in some cases. Innovators like MF Doom, Dr. Octagon & Big L never got anywhere close to that sort of popularity.
The new Aesop Rock that came out this month is fucking awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZVlSqjjkic as well as the new Death Grips; open your minds.
The History of Opioids
Ketamine has shown a lot of promise in small doses for combating depression before it ever begins. As far as I know, the best alternative for opiates is Kratom.
I've used it plenty for other reasons, cutting down on alcohol and what some call "Kratom dreams". But, it is one of the best tools for opiate withdrawal while still receiving the "benefits" of an opiate. Supposedly, people are able to combat heroin withdrawal, which is huge. That said, it's completely legal and you can buy it off the internet, but always research the color strain before - there are green, white & red strains which have somewhat different effects.
ketamine has shown a lot of promise as an effective alternative.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren to Republicans: Do Your Job
Notice how Bob has nothing to say after a reply like this... I doubt he has the objectivity to delve into a real conversation.
Warning, this is long. It's a general reply to bob
Sen. Elizabeth Warren to Republicans: Do Your Job
His comments are so brain-dead that I think he is probably just a troll.
Obama and the Democrats are the extremest not the Republicans.
Thor (Halvorssen) Hammers Fox's Anti-Sanders Piece

Breakfast. Take it. Or leave it.
Yeah, I hardly ate breakfast for a decade just because I didn't have the time between crunching sleep and getting to work, then my metabolism just evolved.
I think this is the reason that eggs. sausage, hash browns, bacon & toast make me excited since rarely have the time to eat em.
