Qruel gave me the impression that he felt other religions don't need to be accepting of Mormons.

He also stated indirectly that Mormon doctrine was "nonsense."

I don't mind when people say that Mormons have different beliefs than most other Christian faiths. It's true. They do. I find it offensive when people make anyone's personal convictions and beliefs out to be "ridiculous" or "nonsense". If one believes that ALL religion is nonsense, that's a different story.

(..and Romney did make specific references to what he believes and how it relates to the office of President of the United States.)

Deedub81, I believe you are misinformed.

Mormons are not Christians, there is a marked difference between Mormonism and mainstream Christianity. Here's BeliefNet with a helpful charts of differences. This one is from Religion Facts.

Mormons believe Joseph Smith was a prophet and that Christianity fell into apostasy after the passing of Jesus Christ. The Bible to them is far below the The Pearl of Great Price, The Doctrine and Covenants, and The Book of Mormon.

"Whether Mormons should be considered "Christians" is a controversial and rather complicated issue. Many Catholics and Protestants do not consider Mormons to be Christians because they believe the differences in doctrines are more dramatic and more fundamental than those between Christian denominations."

Its not "Religion bashing intolerance", it's just the facts, Christians don't accept the Mormon faith as being part of Christianity.

This is why Romney is capitalizing on religious faith in general and not specifically talking about his own faith. I can see what he's trying to do, but unlike JFK he doesn't simply state that we should separate my faith from my time in office (JFK was the first Roman Catholic president), he is banking on religious faith in general to win votes.

Are you seriously comparing John Sinclair with Dr. King and Rosa Parks?

There's a difference between laws against drugs, or laws against...say...praying. It there were a law, that forced me to do something (or not do something) that went against my principles, that's a different story. John Sinclair just wanted to get high. That's a selfish reason for breaking the law. Don't act like he was doing something noble.

In reply to this comment by Fedquip:
sometimes you have to break the law and demand change.

You're a Canadian, so I'll explain it for you :

When you get pulled over, you've got to sign the ticket for a couple of reasons. First, so the judge knows that you were present when the police officer issued the ticket, and second, acknowledging that you understand when and where you are supposed to appear in court. Every ticket issued in the US clearly states near the signature line that it is "NOT AN ADMISSION OF GUILT." What do you think this is: Mexico? China? Russia? Iran? We live in a very FAIR country. That police officer did everything by the book. That guy should have just signed the ticked, and disputed it in court. If you refuse to sign a ticket, they arrest you and take you to jail. They teach that to us when we're sixteen.

In reply to this comment by Fedquip:
Are you guys kidding me? The cop asked him to turn around. Not only are you cheering on the cops you think the chick should have been tasered?

Sure he should have just taken the ticket, agreed...But if you watch the full length version of the video the cop pulls him over at the traffic sign (which was a temporary sign, so the guy might be used to a different speed on that road)so I can understand his frustration with the cop.

What exactly did he have to sign? The cop wanted him to sign a paper, I have never had to sign anything when getting a ticket, was the cop asking him to admit guilt? Maybe they guy has never had a ticket before, and didn't know what the hell was going on. The cop wouldn't even tell him how fast he was going! I would have been outraged.

I just don't get it, the cop asked the guy to get out of his car because he didnt want to admit guilt? WATCH IT CLOSELY and imagine yourself in these peoples shoes, as the guy leaves his car the cop is already putting down his clip board and is ready to draw his taser, why is the guy getting arrested? What act did this guy do to provoke the gun to be pulled on him, he was pointing at the speeding sign, that was. I would be taken a little aback from that situation. No provocation, no threats, nothing the cop just pulled his gun and shot.

If you think this guy deserved to be tasered, I feel sorry for you.

Hahaha. That's funny stuff. Way to call out an idiot know-it-all.

In reply to this comment by MarineGunrock:
Way to fucking spoil it for people that haven't played Episode two, Payback.
Also, there are no folders that contain specifically sounds. The only other files for HL2 are a couple of .bin files. Other than that, it's all been copied if you followed the instructions.
And yeah, it's a hack. "Hack: A clever solution to an interesting problem."
Hack doesn't necessarily mean dealing with code and shit, you know.

I agree. Look what happened in Rwanda, Argentina, etc...

I guess we won't take sides unless it's just US vs THEM. Our gov't won't jump in after the sides have already been chosen.

Sad thing is, we'll probably arrest and convict someone for war crimes after it's too late.

In reply to this comment by Farhad2000:
All I can see for this is the eventual violent suppresion by the military junta, the international community decrying the events while doing absolutely nothing to stop it.

President Bush talked about promoting democractic progression around the world, here is one struggling to develop and break free from totalitarian rule. What does he do? Ignore it.

Roger that. I'll let you know how it turns out when I try it on the Walgreens brand.

In reply to this comment by arvana:
It was a Dorcy Heavy Duty -- I just happened to have it lying around the garage; it was already dead, but I was curious.

In reply to this comment by deedub81:
I'm curious: What brand did you use.

In reply to this comment by arvana:
I tried this myself, and I too got the 4 large cells as in this video.

But it's all about the brand — somewhere out there must still be lurking the legendary AA-cell lantern battery.
