Creating Cutting-Edge Sci-Fi with Practical Effects
Yes... coming from a guy who makes his living in computer graphics, please make more models and practical effects!
Can You Solve the Bridge Riddle?
That was great. Keep thinking about it, it is possible... no tricks!
Why You Should Tell Coworkers Your Salary
Yeah, never understood this taboo. Most people got the idea from somewhere that it's bad manners. 'Course, I think we should all be talking politics and religion at the workplace as well...
How are different languages constructed?
Fascinating. A little short on examples, though...
NASA Engineer tells you how to win an egg drop
Hmm. 4/5 of those solutions were pretty disappointing. Balloons, bag of styrofoam, parachute, and... drone airlift
One good tip on the straws one though: don't aim the shock-absorbing straws in at your egg!
Daniel Kish: How I use sonar to navigate the world
As I understand it, the visual cortex does for real start adopting this other sensory input as if it were coming from the eyes and put together a "fuzzy" representation of the world in your brain. Our brains take what they can get and work with it. Neuroplasticity FTW.
This Video Will Make You Angry -- CGP Grey
Bad title. Actually, this video will explain social media outrage fads in 7 minutes.
Why do mirrors flip horizontally (but not vertically)?
I didn't wonder either, but I enjoyed the explanation nonetheless!

The Most Massive Dinosaur, and Are Earthquakes Contagious?
I keep waiting for one of these guys to dethrone the blue whale (unlikely, I know): Dreadnoughtus was nowhere close. About half the mass. The other tantalizing "guesses" he mentions could be in the ballpark, but who knows with so little to go on.
Awesome find!
What a 'real image' from a concave mirror can do is demoed
Hmm.
Yeah, I don't get it either, do you have to be there in person to get the effect? Isn't this what mirrors are supposed to do?
Numberphile: 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + ... = -1/12
Exactly. My provisional assent for string theory just went out the window...
Wrong in so many ways.
1. You can't add positive integers and get a negative number.
2. As you add another digit to the sum the result is always higher.
If this help string theory, then this is one more reason to believe string theory is bullshit.
The Solar System -- our home in space
^ The estimated date they gave for the sun melting Earth's crust is 500 million years hence. That's sooner than a billion. And I didn't know about that one...
Lagrange Points - Sixty Symbols
In 2010, we discovered our first (and only) trojan asteroid for sun-earth at L4. I'm surprised the video didn't mention it.
