Most Americans are Stupid - a proposal for an experiment

You all know me by now... You know I'm liberal for the most part, but you know I also think most of my fellow Americans (both liberals, conservatives, and extremist crackpots) are pretty fucking stupid.

I was listening to that healthcare debate on the sift the other day where the woman was comparing Obama to Hitlern and Barney Frank verbally bitchslapped her for being such an utter imbecile and it got me thinking.

Now, QM and other conservatives, stick with me here because I'm actually talking cross-party-lines here. My scientific proposal goes something like this:

We need to approach random people on the street and ask them what party they are with. Then we tell them that the opposing party has a new announcement concerning a major thing, say a new legislation on changes to the present taxation (it is important to keep it vague, but make it sound new enough to the point that they won't know any details about it, or have heard a similar story in the news).

Here's my hypothesis: I feel that most Americans will instinctively be "against" it despite the fact that they haven't heard any details and will base their utter outrage with it solely on the fact that it is from the "opposing" party. I'm also willing to bet that a majority of Americans will be pretty worked up about it even though they don't know a damned thing about it.

I guess my point is that when it comes to healthcare, the economy, etc.etc.etc. People in this country really don't educate themselves as to the true issues at hand and simply go along with what they are told by TV, Internet, and other avenues of misinformation (on both sides).

Now, we must have some sifter still in College that could run this for credit towards something!
