Hey remember Tab Candy? I'm using it and it's cool
I posted a video announcing Tab Candy http://videosift.com/video/You-use-Firefox-right-You-ll-definitely-want-this a while back which attracted a few (surprising to me) dismissive comments. Since then it's been called Tab Sets though that's not a final name.
But I just decided to give it a go as I figured out you can install a Minefield version in a separate folder without doing any damage to your system. I got mine again from Portableapps, http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/test (scroll down to see the link).
It's pre-alpha code so it has quirks but already I'm seeing how handy it is. I do tend to collect alot of tabs as my mind drifts to whatever I want to look up or research. Instead of building up a long list that I can't manage I just drag and drop into different sets. It makes things very easy and ordered.
Here's a quick screenshot of my stuff;

Overall it's miles better than manually opening a set of new windows (which would eat up space) - that whole process is way too clunky. Here I just open up the sets, click on the site I want and boom, it's there along with anything else that's relevant.
It's a good way to focus - I actually feel a bit more guilty about hitting the Procrastination set and feel more able to leave it alone to get on with some work.
Anyway so far so good. There's a ton of things they need to do but a nice new feature.
