Comments as Toxic Waste
This article is very apropos to what happens on VideoSift. I don't agree that comments are the "radioactive waste" of the web. Quite the opposite- they are the radioactive fuel that powers VideoSift - ocassionaly we have a spill, but it's mostly contained. The important thing about comments is that they are powerful and they need attention. People need to know that what they write matters - for better or for worse - and there are consequences. This goes a long way to disarming the anonymous "it's just the Internet LOL" attitude of a vocal minority.
