There's equivalents for all German letters with the regular 26 characters. Anything with an umlaut turns into the regular letter + "e" ("über alles" --> "ueber alles"), and scharfes S (ß) is spelled "ss".
Aren't there more than 26 letters in the German alphabet? I can see they aren't on the keyboard, but that seems odd.

I believe the word you're looking for is "Daddy".

For this comment I salute you just as if I was a German in the 1940's and you were my... whats the word now...

Thanks for correcting my Grammar, especially in a language which I do not speak- it'll come in handy for me to know I shouldn't capitalize the "D" in "der Führer", not to mention instructing me in the proper use of an umlaut. You've saved me from humiliation and embarassment by going out of your way to teach me the use of proper German grammar. There's a term used on the internet for people who do so, but frankly it escapes me at the moment... some sort of "Grammar Authorities" or "Grammar Strict Police"... damnit, what's the word I'm looking for?

You win all of the Internets for this one. It deserves to be one of the highest rated comments on the Sift.

No, please don't misunderstand. I was joking myself- taking advantage of the situation. I mean seriously, how often does one get to call another a "Grammar Nazi" in so appropriate a situation? You corrected my grammar in a posting regarding a video about Hitler? Perfect, delicious irony and I thank you for setting it up so perfectly.

Yeesh. If you can't take a little anal retention, you may want to stop browsing the Sift...

Cenk Gets Smacked Down On National TV.
Well it's a great title to stir up contraversy.>> ^marinara:
hey its a great title, just maybe not for this video. hehe
and i wish his name pronunciation would either be all "ch" or all "j". keep illegal foreigners outta our alphabet or we will always be sorry. I remember this one time i was ambushed by swedish vowels and the umlaut thing pulled a gun on me.

Moxy Früvous "Gulf War Song"
hey, nice umlaut.

^Ant's often hard to figure, but I think he likes the umlaut you used.
Björk - Hunter
ALT+0246 (on the keypad) = ö
you can get shortcuts for any ASCII character by going Start > Run... "charmap"
though if you're going to do that, you may want to add a "bjork" tag on the tagline (without the umlaut diacritic) in order to make it searchable.
Björk - Hunter
you mean an umlaut?
Which by the way would be the best name for a metal band evar.
