VP Debates Webcast live on the New York Times (Election Talk Post)
Whats with CNN with that Men and Women + - ticker. What happened to Reps vs Dems thing?
McCain advisor gets pwnd on MSNBC by footage of McCain
>> ^rottenseed:
Most important about this clip is the ticker at the bottom.
"...PETA asks that Ben & Jerry's use breast milk in its ice cream instead of cow's milk, saying it would reduce the suffering of cows and give ice cream lovers a healthier product"
You've got to be fucking kidding me, what kind of freaky fucking hippie would drink some strangers breastmilk, thats just sick, I'm sorry. I'm all for animal rights, but lets get real.

It's almost as if the Onion News Network wrote that ticker!!!

Sarah Palin as VP? (Election Talk Post)
His ticker isn't long for this world, so if he becomes president, we may have our first female president by default. Wow. Repubs are so progressive!
The last hour before the world changed forever
Ah, the good ol' days, before news tickers and updated terror alert levels, when war in the Middle East was covert and lied about.
Ahmadinejad on the History of Israel and Threats of Force
I agree with him completely about the audacity of the US being a permanent member of the UN Security Council. The task of that organization is to keep world peace, and we go around bombing the fuck out of everybody we don't like. Before they even attack us!
And I agree that it represents his beliefs more than any blurb you'll see in the States. You can tell it's not from American television because there's no ticker on the bottom of the screen talking about Angelina Jolie's babies.
>> ^NetRunner:
Interesting, and definitely more information there about Iran's public stance on both Israel and America than you'll ever find in the news here.
Sounded like echoes of Bush from the other side. Remind people of the open wounds about Israel, then deftly tie it to America's genesis, and then rally on about America's crimes to get the more reasonable non-US governments out there going, and then call for us to lose our seat on the Security Council.
Kinda neat to see him essentially openly discuss the possibility of Iran having nuclear weapons. I'm surprised that's not on an endless loop in our own local propaganda outlets.
Wesley Clark: VERY interesting criticism of John McCain
Clark is right. Flying in a fighter plane and being shot down is not a qualification for president, and being starved and tortured does not make you a better person. Policies matter, and McCain's policies are backwards.
The Obama campaign should not have apologized for Clarke's remarks.
[Edit: this was based on a CNN ticker report that said Obama had apologized, but there's now some doubt about whether that was actually an apology]
Happy commercial from the Philippines
yeah this is a great song, and a great emotion.

IT'S ZOMBIES TIME...Mr Zonbie Reaches a 100 Come Here ;) (Happy Talk Post)
Yeehaaaaa! I was watching the ticker and waiting. WTG, sir. You certainly are a quality sifter. I would try to offer some kind of reward, but I think you've already got yours.
(I swear that's the last creepy comment I make about the two of you. Honest.
Transplanting the Human Head
Please DO NOT view the below perversion of science unless you can remain "unsentimental". It is the result of work by Vladimir Demikhov in 1954, on dogs. It is the upper body of a small dog grafted onto the shoulders of a larger dog. I can recognize that there may have been made advances in vascular surgery but just because you can, doesn't mean you should. In this case it's two dog brains and therefore two dog 'souls'.

^WARNING VIEWER DISCRESSION^
Dghandi has an interesting point though. Better to be a paraplegic and alive? Maybe, but it's the brain stem that runs the ticker, so all that would have to be connected. Maybe some day.
HH-60 Engages Target With GAU 17 Mini-Gun
I understand why you downvoted, I agree however I don't believe shying away from the events that do occur and in the way they occur serves us any better either. War is a reality of life in the 21st century, especially to the young kids facing combat duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The people are so far removed from it actually occuring, one would never think America is at war living in America. Because war media is so suppressed politically, lives lost become nothing but numbers uttered or scrolled across that news ticker at the bottom.
Humanity needs to think about killing. How much evil do we have to do in order to do good.
Featured Member Comment=Annoying Pain in the Ass (Wtf Talk Post)
Oh GOD no, not a stock ticker (rolling banner), those suck so much.
The featured member comment is not a bad idea, but I think you should fiddle around with the execution of it. They way it is right now is not optimal.
Why Ron Paul never had a chance.
I don't think there's any question the media was blacking out Paul. I don't think there was a single interview through all of 2007 where he wasn't told that his chances were "slim" and he was a "longshot" and ultimately asked "will you run on a third party ticket." I remember seeing a Fox clip covering the 6 million dollar day and the ticker at the bottom said "Money for nothing?" I kid you not. None of the other candidates got treated that way, and he raised more money and got more votes than a lot of them despite it. Imagine what it would have been if he had gotten a fair shake. I imagine the powers that be want to regulate the internet now seeing the influence it had for a truthtalker like Paul.
People are so weak minded that that's all the media really has to do. Plant the seed of doubt in their mind that he has no chance, and they will effectively believe it in a self-fulfilling prophecy along the same lines as "I don't want to waste my vote on someone who won't win." I think if there was an election between media-loved Hitler, media-loved Stalin and a blacked out libertarian candidate, Hitler or Stalin would win.
