The tambourine guy is going full cowbell.

That's the way to play the tambourine.

It's particularly obvious from around 1:40 to the 2:00 mark... also note that two girls are playing guitar, drums, electric organ, tambourine, and singing both lead and backing vocals, sometimes almost all of these things simultaneously. The light changes over the course of the day, too.
