Cop Pulls Over Top-Ranking Officer for Speeding

moonsammy says...

I'm guessing he figured he could argue it in court (if need be), and pressure the other officer to not show. No one going *that* much over the speed limit should be construed as responsible - he's a public menace.

I was pretty happy to see that he wasn't combative and just complied. He also notified his superior immediately. Seems like he knows how to act like an adult.

Admittedly my bar is pretty low for these guy's and I'm sure he could get up to all kinds of shenanigans later, but what was in the video seemed pretty good in comparison to a lot of these reports.

Cop Pulls Over Top-Ranking Officer for Speeding

96 in a 35, nearly triple the speed limit in a rural/residential area!?!…that’s 100% dangerous reckless driving. He intentionally drove in an outrageously unsafe manner with wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property….under color of authority to boot! That should make this a felony with a 5 year sentence.

Any citizen caught would go directly to jail with the car impounded for a week minimum (after getting beaten up and tased), and sentenced to 5-90 days, $1000 fine, two or more points on their license, cancelled insurance, and loss of employment if they drive for their job.

He gets a ticket he won’t even pay, no thought of impound, and two days of extra vacation (“without pay” means they use sick time, vacation time, overtime, or Flex Time…they still get paid in full, they’re just not on the clock for 2 days.)
His passenger in uniform didn’t even get a reprimand for doing it with him. He should also see prison.

It’s time for citizens to citizens arrest these criminals, deadly force is authorized if they resist.

You don’t have to break Einstein’s speed limit at all, you just need to grasp that space isn’t real until it’s measured, so the entanglement doesn’t occur over a distance.

David Blaine Freaks Jimmy Out

Yeah but it would roughly amount to a speeding ticket of 20 miles an hour over the speed limit. I doubt he'd fight it in court.

Back in 2014 I worked for a company in Naples FL that is owned by Jack Roush. The job was mostly road testing new cars before they started hitting dealer lots. We would travel on specified routes for 8 hours. There was day and night shifts. I mostly drove nights. The routes were on Interstate and city roads. Every test vehicle had a Black Box.

We had three 2015 Vipers. The thing I liked the most with that car is that it felt like you were sitting in the hand of God. I cannot tell you how hard it was to keep to the speed limit. It was so hard that I got written up just for "touching" 100 mph for 2 seconds.

12K Illegal Immigrants Live Under Bridge In Del Rio, Taxes

newtboy says...

And if they’re here under what was legally called refugee status until the rules, but not the law or the treaties that required creation of certain laws, changed, as most are?

If you go 1 mile over the speed limit, or pass on the right, forevermore you call yourself an illegal driver?

If your school breaks some laws, it’s forever an illegal enterprise?

If your charity breaks a few, or all the rules for being a charity, you are branded for life as one who ran a fraudulent criminal illegal organization?!

LMFAHS!!!

It would be nice to see some consistency in how you would apply rules, and how you would handle rule breakers. I see no chance of that, but it would be nice.

If they are here Illegally then they ARE Illegal Immigrants.

If they are afraid of their home they can stop in many other places even Mexico.

Also anyone who can walk a thousand miles or so don't need to be in America to make a life for themself.

Texas man strips down to make a point about vaccination

newtboy says...

Yes, he's making his point quite well.
He's pointing out all the ways they follow the law and rules of civilization, even though they're sometimes inconvenient or uncomfortable, even though many laws are to protect others more than themselves. He's doing it in a way that no one ignores. He's exemplifying the selfish, outrageous behavior they are championing in such a way that they can't help but disagree with him, which MAY lead to them questioning their own actions and recognising they resemble that display he put on.

When did he call them names?

Mask mandates are in place, put there by responsible representatives. This meeting was to explain why to those too obstinate to understand why, not to let them choose.
They have been told hundreds of times by calm reasonable people, calmly and using data and statistics to explain why masks and vaccines are necessary, and the answer was "keep yer govment vaxine urtta mah blud and yer Fouchi facemask off me and mah chilin!"

Only enforcing it when it's absolutely necessary, only where it's absolutely necessary, and for as short a time as possible has led us to wave 4, the worst yet. It's necessary now until the virus is gone, it's necessary everywhere so the virus doesn't have a Petri dish to evolve in and become far more virulent and dangerous, it's necessary to continue wearing them and getting vaccinated/boostered until the virus is eradicated....maybe until civilization falls if we're unlucky or too stupid to follow directions.

I have no idea why this touches such a nerve for you. It seems so obviously proper to most of us, and an excellent way to show them that they already do tons of annoying stuff for other people's safety, like driving the speed limit and stopping at lights and wearing clothes, not starting random fires, etc....all stuff mandated by the government.

Explain please, why that's improper.

Wait....so you say we shouldn't have a discussion at all with anti maskers/antivaxers, because they'll spout some nonsense?!
Um.....no.
You don't convince people to do the right thing by ignoring them when they do the wrong things for the wrong reasons. WTF are you saying?! Don't have any discussions because extremists will take hold and you think reasonable people can do nothing. Only true if reasonable people stop trying to discuss and convince them of reality, which is your suggestion? Um......

So he is trying to be clever. But is he making his point well?

Its much like us trying to convince Bob and friends by calling them names, its not going to work.

Mask mandate is an emergency measure and should be put in place by responsible representatives, not public debate. It should be explained seriously and not by anecdote. It should only be enforced where necessary and for as long as necessary. Local authorities should have that authority, just like for other natural disasters.

If you start a discussion, extremists will take hold of it.

"The guys try durian(...)"

Someone brought one of those fucking things into our office once and the evacuation of the workspace and people's stomachs was epic. You can smell that shit all the way to the ISS and it's probably the reason aliens haven't invaded us yet. It's sorta like that movie 'Signs', only instead of making no fucking sense what-so-ever, the aliens show up, smell a durian, mutter "are you fucking kidding me?!" and then get back on their spaceship and fuck off to somewhere less malodorous. This is also what keeps Tacoma mostly vacated. Seriously, the reason WaDoT lowered the speed limit to 50 on the part of I-5 that has the misfortune of passing through Tacoma is that they hate everyone west of the Cascades and this is how they get back at us. Yeah, FUCK YOU -- Tacoma may stink, but Biden's still president!

Cunts, the whole fucking lot of 'em.

BSR says...

Correct. Hope this helps.

You will be driving very slowly – usually 30-40 mph on roads, depending on the normal speed limit, and no more than 55 mph on the highway.

You will need to stay close to the car in front of you in the procession – do not allow room for a vehicle not in the procession to cut in. (Emergency vehicles excluded)

Stay in line and with the procession at all times – even if means you are going through a red light at an intersection. Local traffic ordinances give a funeral procession the right-of-way, and other motorists must yield until the procession has passed. (Emergency vehicles excluded) Do not leave your place in the procession line unless there is an emergency.

The last car in the procession will have 2 funeral flags and will also have hazards lights flashing to signify to other motorists that the procession has ended and that traffic may resume.

Once you arrive at the cemetery, a cemetery attendant will lead the procession to the gravesite or chapel, and the funeral attendant will collect the flags from your vehicle.

Do not tip the lead driver.

Piece of Bread falling over

StukaFox says...

Somebody made this. Someone said, "Y'know what the world needs in 2021? A piece of fucking bread falling over." They probably said this because they were stoned. Probably very stoned. Y'know, a stoner with an idea is something to be respected and feared at the same time. Every stoner is McGuyver when it comes to getting stoned. No pipe? We gotta apple. No apple? We gotta Coke can. No Coke can? "Here, kitty kitty kitty!"

People are all, "Yeah, stoners 'n' shit...", but do they know how much effort a stoner will expend to score a dimer on a Saturday night when The Wall starts at the midnights in 30 minutes? Heaven, Earth, heavy rocks, speed limits, moral certitudes -- nothing stands in the way iffin' you're dry when you should be high!

That's some tasty-ass lookin' bread, too. Bet that bitch would be primo with some peanut butter on it. Oh wait, cotton-mouth....uhh, let's go for Welch's Grape Jelly instead. Ohhhyeah, one bite of WGJ and you're back in the second grade where the days were infinite and all you had to do is play, knock out a couple of easy math problems, and not torment the cat too much.

Thank fucking Christ 2020 is over.

Black Man Gets Pulled Over For Doing 65 in a 70

This seems ridiculous to issue a warning for traveling 5mph UNDER the speed limit..
It's the speed LIMIT, not speed REQUIREMENT!
What if I don't feel safe or comfortable driving that fast?!
What if my car doesn't have enough power to travel that fast?!
What if I want to drive economically and not waste gas/electricity traveling that fast?!

Biker shocked as speeding Motorcyclists come right at him

Digitalfiend says...

He's doing almost 160km/h, which is highly likely to be MUCH greater than the speed limit, and I'm sure those other bikers weren't exactly obeying the limit either. Granted they passed up a slight hill but honestly, it could have been a deer or road debris. Hopefully when they go splat they won't take someone else with them.

Which is The Most Dangerous Car? Problems with NHTSA ratings

newtboy says...

I was thinking about car safety and how the biggest variable is likely the driver...how specific cars are driven on average, and it struck me that the best way to promote public safety would be to make your maximum speed limit variable based on gvw (gross vehicle weight). This is already done for vehicles with more than two axles or those towing trailers because it's obvious they take longer to stop. The same logic should apply to every car. It's a no brainer that a Humvee takes longer to stop than a Miata, and is far less controllable under emergency braking. For the safety of both those in such larger vehicles and the general public, they should not be allowed to go as fast as cars weighing 1/4 their weight with better brakes.
A side benefit of such a system would be greater average fuel economy, because bigger cars have greater wind resistance (on average) so become less efficient at higher speeds.
Of course, I wouldn't expect that kind of reason to ever fly in America where the most popular car is a heavy truck that's never used for hauling and could be replaced with a Honda Civic with no loss of functionality for >75% of owners....but everyone wants to drive a tank so they're safer, with no thought about what that means for the other cars on the road.
