To be fair, Sanders and his supporters were accused of some horrible stuff too....by both sides. Not child sex slavery and multiple murders, but still slanderous mud slinging.
Also to be fair, a large enough portion of the left turned on her in April/May when the DNC actions came to light and she didn't honorably walk away from a tainted candidacy, and instead hired the people who had clearly broken the rules in her favor....not just after the election.

That said, she has every right to be bitter, and she would have been exponentially better than Trump....Sanders could have been at least one order of magnitude better than that given the chance, imo, and he didn't come with an ingrained, well structured, long practiced, and exceptionally well funded opposition in place.

Trump has sunk political discourse to new lows, I agree. But I think she'd suffer worse slings and arrows than "Pocahontas" no matter who her opponent is. That's the game and it always has been. She's got to "man up" and anticipate a certain amount of mud being slung her way. Hillary Clinton, for all her faults, would never be caught unaware by a provoking one-liner like that.

Or as another example, think about Bernie Sanders, in the Democratic primary. From his own party; not yet from archfiend Trump. Sanders' own party called him a kook, didn't take him seriously, and harped on the "socialist" charge that they presumed would be a rallying standard against him for Republicans, etc. But I don't remember him showing any discomfort with that or letting on that it was getting to him.


I really do like Warren, but it is of paramount importance for any Presidential candidate to develop a thick enough skin to weather the smear campaign that is guaranteed to be headed their way. And this small throwaway interview isn't a sign that she can't get there, but it is a sign that she's still got plenty of work to do if she has those aspirations. Based on that, at this point I'd feel better if Sanders was the heir apparent (although that seems very unlikely given the current heads-up-asses state of the DNC). But Warren definitely has plenty of time to get to where she needs to be.

I don't really care what his fans said on Twitter or anywhere else for that matter. Unless he explicitly instructed them to go out and harass somebody you can't realistically hold him responsible for the actions of others.

The bulk of the article describes how the Baphomet board on 8chan used publicly available information, possibly gleaned from thunderf00t's video, or perhaps not, to target Jennifer Keller and her business. The folks over at Baphomet were really just doing this for their own amusement, here's a quote from the article.

I should also take a moment to point out that Jennifer Keller aka 'Laughing Witch' on YouTube along with others engaged in a letter writing campaign to try and get Phil Mason 'thunderf00t' fired from his job. Now I don't know about you, but I would call that harassment. I find that kind of behavior unacceptable no matter which side you are on. But there she was, down in the trenches slinging shit right along side the other trolls and misanthropes.

As for specious arguments, the focus on minor details and painting whole groups of people with a broad brush, Sarkeesian and company do all of these things. Sarkeesian criticizes an industry and thunderf00t attacks her criticisms and questions her rationale. But supporters will try to draw attention away from his arguments by calling it an attack on her.

You want to hold thunderf00t responsible for the actions of trolls and MRA wack-jobs, but are you willing to hold Sarkeesian responsible for the actions of feminism's lunatic fringe?

Trump doesn't follow the rules. Attack ads and criticism (however legitimate it may be) don't work. In fact, they have the opposite effect. He's got a cult of personality; anything you say about him only adds to it.

The only curveball she can throw at Trump is to completely ignore him. His rabid supporters aren't going to drop him, no matter how stupid you make him look or how well you can show the logical flaws in his ideas. But ignoring him would rile him up even more -- Trump's ego *demands* to be the center of attention. Ignore him, and he *will* say crazy stuff to try to draw you out. Crazy enough stuff to turn away the sane independents, moderates, and plenty of more level-headed Republicans.

But the last thing you want to do is get into a shit-slinging match with Trump. Sun Tzu: He who is prudent and lies in wait for an enemy who is not, will be victorious.

I have limited experience with slinging, but IMHO it's already very much the same as just throwing a stone out of your hand in terms of aim and how it feels.

You basically just release the knot at the point of the swing where you would anyway. Feels very natural.

There's also very little gain in swinging it more than one revolution above your head, almost all the power comes from the flick at the last moment.

I found getting a good power stroke (ooh er Mrs etc.) was the harder part.

A good afternoon of farting about and you could probably kill someone fairly proficiently with one though.

Someone with a lifetime of practice would be terrifying, at least as much as a good archer I would imagine.

Would be interesting to hear if he thinks that using the sling could get as natural as throwing with one's own arm, given enough practice.

I'm getting visions of "Groundhog Day" in my head -- "6 months, 4-5 hours a day, and you'd be an expert."

If it was laying there and you quickly grabbed and used it straight away to get a few shots off in the heat of the moment most people would probably be cool with it, but it'd be very situational (and you really need to be at least acquainted with the person and what kind of attitude they'd have).

It very rare that it'd come up anyway though as once they are dead, they are generally going to be walking off to the re spawn and will want their gun back to do so (and most likely still have it in sling/holster/hand).

Main exception is when something like medic rules are in play and people have to sit down and wait to be revived. If you can camp a downed enemy & ask nicely you might well get away with it. But it'd be very poor etiquette not to at least ask them. Most these guns are £2-300+ (some pushing 1k) and quite precious to people so you wouldn't appreciate some randomer you know nothing about grabbing it and going rambo.

At a small close knit site it does happen, less so at a bigger less personal one. I'd be a bit fucked off if someone I didn't know grabbed one of mine and started using it, but depends on the situation and their attitude to it.

As for a battery, only if they expressly offered, very unlikely unless you know them and they are carrying a spare compattible with yours. Realistically you just treat it as a catastrophic weapon jam and get on with it. (there will be spare batts back at base). A lot of people are using Gas powered rifles now also which adds to the logistical problems with that.

But as you saw, at that range his pistol did a perfectly serviceable job anyway! (I often switch to pistol in buildings anyway, much more weildy)

I clusterfucked it. I spammered the profile account those comments were left on, thinking it was the same account as the commenter. After that it turned into a disaster. I just stated slinging invocations like a wild man with the three accounts.
